A memorable day to say the least. Although the girls came up on the wrong side of a 4-2 championship game today, the girls proved that they are truly champions regardless. After a slow start and falling behind 2-0 early, the girls battled back to make the game 2-1 and then continued to fight making the game 3-2 with about 10 minutes to go. The girls had a few opportunities to tie the game up but fell just short. Their continued perseverance and passion demonstrated throughout the game was inspiring and showed the true character of these girls. Better than the soccer itself was our end of the party that followed this championship game where our families came together and the girls were able to swim and hang out. Being around these girls and families highlights just how special and lucky we are to have all found each other. We are all fortunate to be a part of this team and have each other to play the sport we love. Congratulations on a great season girls. Next season preparation is right around the corner.

Onto the State Championship! The girls have continued their solid play and advanced to the State Championship this coming Sunday. The girls jumped out to a two goal lead in the first half of the semi-final tonight. In a back and forth second half, the girls were able to finish off a late penalty kick to secure the 3-0 victory. The girls have now secured their spot as one of the final two teams remaining in the state tournament with an opportunity to become state champions in two days time. We are so proud of you girls for your hard work and growth throughout the season. It is fun to watch it all culminate into success at the highest level. Congratulations girls and best of luck in the finals.

We appreciate the recognition and support! These girls deserve all of the credit for their hard work and dedication throughout the long season. So proud of them.

Over the first two weekends of the tournament, the Phoenix Rising Desert Foothills 2012 Girls Wolfe team emerged from arguably the toughest bracket in the State Champions Cup to advance into the quarterfinals. Facing one of the top teams in the state, the girls got out to an early three goal lead in the first half with stifling defense and a creative attack. The girls were able to battle through the hot conditions and see the game through to full time completing the 3-1 victory. The girls now head into the state semi-finals as one of the remaining final four teams vying for the championship. Well done and best of luck girls!

Onto the State Champions Cup Semifinals! The girls came out this afternoon and battled one of the top teams in the state in the quarterfinals. Jumping out to a three goal lead in the first half, the girls continued to fight and push through the hot conditions to finish off a 3-1 victory. In a tournament filled with the top teams in the state vying for the championship, the girls are one of the final four teams. The girls will look to continue their pursuit of a state title next Friday night in a semifinal matchup. Congratulations and good luck girls!

The girls have battled over the past two weekends to take second place in a very tough bracket to open the State Champions Cup. As a result, the girls are one of eight teams to advance out of group play and into the quarterfinals. This knockout stage of the tournament should prove to be exciting and challenging for the girls as they look to advance in the tournament. Congratulations girls and good luck moving forward.

As we head into the final month of our season and prepare for the State Champions Cup, our team is looking to also prepare for the start of next season. Tryouts are just a month away and we are looking forward to adding to the already impressive roster of girls (2012/2013). We have not posted in a while as the season has been in full swing. The girls continue to work hard week in and week out since our last post in October. Since that time, the Wolfe team took first place in the CCV Stars Champions Cup playing up an age group. In that tournament, the girls outscored their opponents 18-0 and cruised to take home the championship. The Copa team took runner-up in the Del Sol Desert Classic after winning their bracket, but falling in a heartbreaker in the finals as the game went to PKs. As we head into the final month of the season, we are more than proud of the work and growth these girls have shown throughout the season.

This coming weekend our Copa team will compete in the Phoenix Rising Fall Classic at Bell Bank Park. The girls will start group play on Saturday with the goal of making the semi-finals Sunday morning. From there, the girls will look to take a spot in the championship game Sunday afternoon. Good luck girls!

The Wolfe team has an off weekend for rest, but will get back into league play next Sunday, November 6th. The girls are currently a game out of first place in the National Premier League and will look for a big win in next week's game.

Keep up the great work girls, you continue to make your coaches and parents proud of the outstanding people you are becoming as well as the growth you consistently show on the soccer field.
