This year, we are using the Misfits-inspired logo for the Wildcat Ultra this year because we felt it represents the identity and spirit of the race better than anything else we could have chosen. The imagery symbolizes resilience, toughness, individuality, and a willingness to embrace discomfort—qualities that define ultramarathon runners and the culture surrounding events like Wildcat.

Ultrarunning has always existed somewhat outside the mainstream athletic world. The people drawn to 50k, 50 mile, 100k, and 100 mile races are often individuals who willingly push themselves into physically and mentally demanding situations that most people would avoid. That mindset has always reminded us of the same kind of countercultural attitude associated with the Misfits: unconventional, gritty, unapologetic, and authentic
