**Today's Adventure with Modern Sport Fishing LLC. in Pensacola:**
We ventured out past 53 miles in search of some deep-sea giants. The sea was dead calm with a drift of just .1 knots, perfect for keeping our baits and jigs in the strike zone. We slow pitch jigged for some Golden Tiles, landing 2 or 3 larger ones. As the day progressed, the wind picked up, making the sea a bit choppy and increasing the drift to nearly 1 knot. We switched to electric reels and managed to catch another decent tile and a few small ones before the big catch of the day hit—a Yellow Edge Grouper that really put up a fight!
Andrew, our 15-year-old angler, was ready for this moment, and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip. Despite the increasing wind and choppy waters, we got that big boy aboard. We continued to drift for another 10 minutes before deciding to head back to calmer waters for some fun with out-of-season triggerfish and snapper.
This was Andrew's third trip out with us, and today he finally got his chance at deep dropping. He caught his first Golden Tilefish, his first on a jig in nearly 900 feet, and his first Yellow Edge Grouper - a catch to be proud of!
Looking forward to more adventures with this crew. Andrew is HOOKED on deep dropping and jigging 😎.
