RESCHEDULED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER:

Join the City of Pensacola on Friday, June 26 at 9:30 a.m. for the Fricker Resource Center Groundbreaking Ceremony (900 N. F Street).

This will mark the beginning of exterior renovations to the resource center, as the project supports the city’s strategic plan goals of connecting communities through public spaces and honoring neighborhood culture and legacy.

As a reminder, here is the expected timeline for the project:

✅Green Simmons has begun interior demolition and construction of the stormwater improvements.
✅Demolition of the building exterior has commenced, with new building walls going up within 30-60 days.
✅The center will reopen with services in June 2027.

Funded by nearly $10 million in grants that were awarded in 2023 and some Local Option Sales Tax Funds, the revitalized center will feature a STEM lab, career lab, senior center, enhanced health and wellness access, ADA-compliant playground updates, multi-purpose field, additional green space and more.

The Fricker Resource Center project is part of the city’s Direction 25 program, a nearly $22 million effort to invest and revitalize parks and public recreation spaces across our city.
