📢 We are excited to announce Coach Roman Porterfield as the next Head Coach of Booker T. Washington Boys Lacrosse!

Coach Roman began his coaching career in his home state of Nevada in 2021. After relocating to Pensacola in 2022, he joined the coaching staff at Booker T. Washington High School football in 2023. During that season, he was approached about helping with the school's lacrosse program. He accepted the opportunity and quickly developed a passion for the sport.
Roman coached at Booker T. Washington from 2023 to 2025 before being offered a position as a student assistant coach with the football program at University of West Florida. After a year at the collegiate level, he discovered that his true passion was mentoring and developing high school athletes.
He returned to Booker T. Washington Lacrosse during the 2026 season as a program liaison and now steps into the role of Head Coach for the Boys Lacrosse Program as the team prepares for the 2027 season. Roman is excited to continue building a culture of growth, accountability, and competitive excellence while helping student-athletes succeed both on and off the field. 💙
