Shag’s Bait & Tackle has been apart of Salem county for 30 plus years, providing quality bait and knowledgeable fishing tips. As it saddens us to write this, some of you may know or have heard we are closing our doors in the next upcoming weeks. The fishing has declined over the years in our area which hasn’t helped our situation. We simply can’t compete with big box stores and online services in today’s world. COVID-19 didn’t help this matter either. We have some thoughts of possibly opening up a bait only window to keep serving bait in busy seasons but nothing is set in stone. Our store will be open until inventory is completely liquidated. Please stop in before all is gone. As being part of a small businesses for some time now I can’t stress enough how important it is to support your local businesses as much as you can. We appreciate each and every one of you so much. Thank you always. Take care and stay safe everyone.
