✨MAY SPOTLIGHT✨

May is wrapping up but this member is just getting started! A night time regular, enjoys cats of weekdays only & has been absolutely crushing it in the gym! This month, we have TONY!! His first name written backwards is “Ynot,” and his last name “Ngninlabhe,” is a Cameroonian surname that roughly translates to “Do your own thing” or “Be unique.” So whenever he runs into obstacles: he always think to himself: “Ynot give it another try?” Keep bringing this energy to PCF, Tony!!

Chest-to-bar pull-ups

Favorite CrossFit Memory:
Getting absolutely humbled by this year’s third CrossFit Open workout. I came in feeling super confident and ready to PR…then barely surviving the first round.

When or what was your “CrossFit Moment”?
Probably the first workout where I had to do more than one lateral burpee. I don’t remember the workout itself. Just that there was definitely one too many burpees.

What are your goals for CrossFit? Why do you do CrossFit?
Truthfully, I’ve always struggled a bit with depression and realized pretty early on that regular exercise really helps me mentally. Working out isn’t fun but doing hard workouts alongside other people makes it suck a lot less. Also once you start seeing progress, it becomes a little  addictive.

As for goals, I want to be able to do 10 perfect rope climbs, hit a 235 lb bench press, and hopefully earn a lifetime contract with the Eagles as the Chief Bench Executor.

What do you think is special about Pennington CrossFit?
The community is incredibly supportive, and the coaches are fantastic. They are a wealth of knowledge on anything fitness related. I really appreciate how they can scale movements without taking away the challenge or benefits of the workout.

I’m a HUGE PSG fan and can’t wait for that second trophy!!

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?: Being able to talk to all animals on earth except flies or rats.
