🌟 Wednesday WOW: Sydney Young 🌟
Hopewell Valley Central High School | Rising Junior | Fitness4Function Athlete
🇺🇸🎖️This past weekend at Nike Outdoor Nationals in Oregon, Sydney stepped onto the national stage—and showed up like a champion.
She placed 3rd in her heat and 15th overall out of 80 elite runners in the mile with a new PR of 5:00.55—and YES, she officially broke 5 minutes in the 1600 at 4:59.
🎯 That sub-5 mile? It’s been her mission all year.
She inched closer and closer throughout her sophomore season, overcoming an XC injury, rehabbing smart through winter, and learning the fine art of balancing grit with recovery this Spring.
⭐Sydney never stopped chasing her goal—and just a few days ago, she crushed it.
When her number popped up on my phone Sunday, I knew what that call meant. 🙌
Music to my ears hearing the joy in her voice that she finally hit her PR time at Nationals.
💥 What makes this kid special isn’t just her speed—
It’s her mindset, her commitment, and the way she races with JOY. ♥️
Here’s a peek at the intentional, daily prep that helped her come in CLUTCH:
✔️ Salt bath & pasta dinner the night before
✔️ Bedtime inner competitor script routine + affirmations + visualization
✔️ Morning BRAVR routine + stretching + clean nutrition
✔️ Aminos, electrolytes & creatine dialed in
✔️ Inner competitor script on repeat 💭🔥
Sydney wrote her vision well before she stepped into it...and that's how you do it.
👊Then she took continued action even with the setbacks.
🤗Sydney, I am so incredibly proud of you—not just because of your time, but because of who you are, and how you continue to show up, trust the process, and run with heart.
The best is yet to be. 🖤💪
