Cheryl on her fine art, "My artwork is a fun, weird and crazy, culmination of my artistic life. It includes a sculpted background of mostly faux bricks but some concrete and other faux finishes. Then there are two panels of acrylic that are hand-painted. The stained frames have three channels for ultimate 3-D effect."

Valerie on her work, "I am a digital illustrator. I paint and illustrate in photoshop using digital brushes and working from my concept sketches. I print my work on canvas as a canvas wrap extending design elements to the sides to avoid the cost of framing. I use 11 colors in the printing process and coat the canvas with a gel medium for protection as shown below. "

Introducing Zenia Lis of Zenia Lis Jewelry returning to the Boston Mills Artfest for the June 27/28 weekend.

My inspiration comes from nature and my place of birth (Cuba). I am driven by working with my hands and using materials in their raw state to create beautiful, detailed, and artful juxtapositions. I enjoy working in my home-based studio and crafting these elements into their best form. I'm driven by perfecting my craftsmanship and my fans' (existing and new ones) admiration and response to my work.

Mimi on her work, "with two pliers (and quite a bit of arm strength!) chainmaille is brought to life in the 21st century to make hand-woven modern day armor for our everyday battles using stainless steel, copper and titanium. Each ring is hand-woven with others to create intricate patterns called weaves, many of which are based in centuries-old armor patterns used in Persia, Europe and Asia."

Renae on her work, "My work is rooted in the quiet language of landscapes—forests, shorelines, paths, and moments of fading light. I am drawn to places that offer stillness, reflection, and a sense of gentle movement forward. Through soft atmosphere, natural color, and contemplative composition, I try to capture the emotional comfort of being near nature. These scenes are not only places I observe, but places I return to for peace, balance, and connection. My paintings invite viewers to pause, breathe, and feel the calm presence of the natural world."

For our next artist introduction, we have Ayala Naphtali a metalsmith returning to Artfest!

More about Ayala's fine art: "As a metalsmith I use traditional techniques of fabrication forging, soldering riveting etc, in my work. My use of natural materials such as dyed coconut shells, banana seed pods, bamboo and found or discarded materials are integral to the evolution of the work. Each material to me is a provocation to push boundaries and to discover its properties and limitations. Often the material is the inspiration for the piece. The challenge of creating functional sculptural objects is both difficult and rewarding, much like a puzzle to solve."
