ROC Flight attended Springloaded’s Nearly Fall Fair August 29-30, 2026.

We found ourselves seeded with 15 second teams in Regular 1. I really figured we were going to be the sacrificial lambs all weekend and take beating after beating. Much to my surprise that is not what happened. Our just run clean philosophy proved more powerful than we could even imagine. An 18 second team in a division with three 15 second teams won a heat here and there, and then a race here and there. We had some dogs sharing positions and our very solid 10 year old height dog Darcy proved to be a lucky charm and helped us win the last two races on Sunday. We finished tied for second place, but ended third due to the fastest time rule. Our regular team had a best time of 18.163.

Open team landed 1st with a best time of 19.814.

Green dog Ellie rocked 7th position and once she gets that box down she will be ready to go!

We appreciate all those that work to keep tournaments moving smoothly and quickly. I personally love Canine Sports Hub for stats.

Looking forward to more laughs and dinners out for our next trip to Caledonia in November!

ROC Flight traveled to Caledonia, ONT for Springloaded’s Multi Challenge on July 25-26, 2026.

We were unable to field a Multi team this year, but with Zoom’s help we were able to place dogs that wanted to participate. Unfortunately, personal circumstances found us without height dogs. We negotiated with some team members and ran Performance for the first time in our history. Our 4 dog line-up hit a best time of 18.459. Axl had been placed on Zoom’s open team and ran with some line-up shifts a best time of 18.486 to obtain 1st place in their division. We are so thankful for our friends on Zoom, we were able to help each and share some laughs. Congratulations to Zoom’s Multi line-up for securing the 2026 Multi Cup.

Flyball is always a good time with friends, Zoom let us participate in some of their photos for the contest. Our passing challenges continue, but I’m proud of one perfect pass that was captured on video. We enjoyed our new real estate “down by the river” and appreciate some Region 13 friends for finding our cooler left behind at the hotel. Looking forward to coming back for the Fall Fair next month – see you then!

ROC Flight had a blast at the 1st Annual Lake Effect Summerween tournament. All three of our teams placed 3rd: Regular Hocus Pocus best time 18.49, Multi Beetlejuice best time 20.323 and Open Ghostbusters best time 19.199.

New titles for Fly FMCh, Levi FM, Pickett and Zero FDCh-G and MBDCh-S for Graham, Jade and Zero.

Our participation in the costume contest led us to two different themed days. Saturday was Pride and Sunday was Patriotic.

Kacey had a great weekend watching all the dogs and even testing some of those very first steps.

ROC Flight made its first trip to Canada of 2026. Our regular team Thistle Be Fun, tied for 1st but lost in overall speed with a best time of 18.133. Our open team Petal Pushers earned 1st with a best time of 20.196.

Darcy, our main height dog since inception earned FDGCH 30k and Jade earned FDCH-G.

Thank you to our friends from Buffalo Wings for showing up for each race and helping where they could. We are trying all the new applications including Flyball Hub and Flyball Vision. Passing is our weakness and I can see the benefits from using the available apps.

This month ROC Flight celebrates our 5 year anniversary. To mark this milestone we had special shirts made noting our “World Tour” and listing all of the tournaments we have attended.

ROC Flight had a fabulous time at Lake Effect’s 4th annual Storm Warning tournament March 7-8, 2026.

Our regular team Storm Chasers came in 2nd with a best time of 18.371, multi team Avalanche came in 1st with a best time of 20.092 and open team Furry Flurries came in 3rd with a best time of 19.780. Our line-ups made several changes between seeding and actually racing, which makes the results seem even sweeter. We have a great group of people who pull together and make our team successful.

We had titles abound… FDGCH 30K for Rhys and just a couple of points shy for Darcy but she will get them next time out. Scout was added to the line-up last minute and earned her Onyx. Ivy, Uno and Nella all earned FDCh-S. Multi breed titles for Daisy MBDCh-G, Levi MBDCh-S, Uno MBDCh, Scout MBDCh, Zero and Jade both earned MBD, MBDX and MBDCh.

We really appreciate having a local tournament and love all of Dave Strauss’ photos, even if Levi is camera shy. Thank you so much for capturing Arizona during mat time, it is bittersweet to see her so happy enjoying the game she dedicated her life to.

It was Kacey’s 3rd tournament and she rolled with all the barking, being handed off and crating amongst the dogs. I look forward to the day she runs her own pup.

ROC Flight made our second trip to Westminster January 31, 2026.

Seeding landed us in the bottom of D1 racing teams who were a full 2 seconds faster. We opted to change our line up and offer the green dogs a chance at the experience.

The day before departure Jade came into season and was forced to forfeit her spot in the line up. Nella attended proudly representing the green dogs.

We finished 5th with a best time of 18.368. Rhys earned FGDCH and Nella earned FDCH. We enjoyed the sights of the city and some traditional dining favorites. Second time through travel was seemless and we are already planning next years line up.

01/31/2026

ROC Flight left the frozen tundra. Stopped for some primo shopping and landed in Times Square. Tomorrow we race at Westminster for the second time!
