Our barn is located 10 minutes off campus at Stride by Stride! For those of you who enjoy the smell of horses, have no problem getting up before the sun rises for a horse show but can't get to a 10am class, and consider it a good day of riding if you can't move the next day...join the others who have some sort of mental deficiency known as an addiction to horses. The Ball State Hunter Jumpers are
dedicated to bringing horsemanship to campus in many forms including Hunter Equitation. We compete in IHSA shows throughout fall and spring term in Hunt Seat equitation. Divisions start with Walk/Trot classes and go up to Open Reining/Jumping 3’. For those successful in the regular season, one may qualify for Regionals, Semi Finals, Zones or Nationals. The IHSA is a huge system with over 300 colleges participating! For more information, see http://ihsainc.com/ However, team members are not required to show if they would prefer to keep things casual. We welcome anyone who is interested in horses, regardless of experience. Recent members of the team have ranged from Hunter/Jumpers who have trained at schooling barns, competed in rated shows, and possibly most importantly, people who have never ridden before in their life! Practices are held weekly at our coaches facilities where lesson horses are provided. Never ridden before? The lowest division of competition is Walk/Trot. If you are interested in experiencing horses, contact our team and we can help you get started. We will help you get started by borrowing all riding gear from one member or another, and give you an introduction to horses without any sort of commitment. All required equipment is provided, including the horses! For questions, contact our officers at:
