Sometimes our own thoughts and visions can get the best of us. It's natural to want to better ourselves, to push ourselves to the limit. But it's also important that we keep things realistic and remember to live in the moment. It's been weeks since I have really been able to just sit and think about what I'm doing and where it's taking me. Unfortunately, I was putting so much on my plate that I was forgetting to check in on myself and make sure I wasn't overdoing things or pushing myself beyond my limits. Life has a funny way of stopping you right in your tracks and slapping you into reality. Take the time to remember what's truly important for YOU, your body, your mind, your health, because if you are not 100%, you can't truly be putting your best you forward.

There's more to life than just surviving, it's all about balance and the choices we make...sometimes I feel like life is a constant juggling act but sitting here in my classroom after a full day of teaching, then a turbo kick class, I'm making time to squeeze in some studying for my next certification before I finish off my day teaching Pulse. Are there some days I want to rip my hair out? ABSOLUTELY, but then I remind myself what a blessing it is to be able to juggle all these things and sit here with a smile on my face as I reflect back on the day, there are just too many things to be thankful for that there just isn't enough time in the day to stress! 🚌

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, I'm already so wordy to begin with, so I'll try my best to spare all of you the torture. 🀣

This picture is about so much more than a comparison. The picture on the left was taken two years ago, just about one year after I decided to make a commitment to myself to begin a journey toward a healthier and happier ME! That first smile says it all, I remember how proud I was for making this commitment to myself and I felt healthier both physically and mentally. It didn't matter that I still had work to do, I was doing it for me and I didn't care how hard I had to work because I was already proud of how far I had come.
What these two pictures don't show are the struggles I faced between then and now, they don't show the disappointment, the obstacles, the constant fight for balance, or the choices I made along the way to rid my life of the negative in order to focus on the positive. But one thing that still remains over those two years is the smile on my face. I'm still smiling because I've never felt more alive! I didn't realize the impact that one decision could have. I am forever thankful that it has brought some amazing people into my life who have taught me so much and helped me realize that the impossible is in fact possible! I know my journey and challenges are far from over, but this photo right here shows a girl who is happy, healthy, committed to living life to the fullest, and is never going to give up on herself!

I am so proud of Jeanne Ann Knecht for all of her hard work! She told me she wanted a challenge and asked me to be a part of her fitness journey. I have carefully planned our sessions based on her goals, and she continues to push herself to the limit and rise to every challenge! I am beyond blessed to have such a strong woman in my life and am so thankful for being able to be by her side as she takes each step with such determination and focus. All of your hard work shows girl, and the pictures prove it!! Take some time to yourself to reflect on how far you have come, not only physically but mentally! Let's face it we are so rough on our bodies!Everyday we push ourselves to the limit and expect our bodies to keep up with us until suddenly, we get a wake-up call. Maybe it's an injury, feeling exhausted, or you are experiencing aches and pains you never felt before. If you can say yes to any of the things I just mentioned, then it's time to take things down a notch. You don't always need an intense workout that leaves you out of breath to make a difference in your body. It is SO important that you take time for restorative exercise. Restorative exercise is meant to make you more aware of how you use your body and the muscles you are using to do so. By using very small movements you can strengthen your muscles while also reducing the amount of wear and tear you put on your body. Pulse incorporates this in addition to taking the time to stretch the muscles and get the oxygen and blood flowing which can help increase your flexibility and improve your overall movement. Do your body a favor and give it a try, Pulse may be light on impact but it sure packs a punch that your muscles won't forget!

Start your weekend off right! Lace up those sneakers and get MOVING! Today I'm doing the Spartan Workout:

25 pull ups
50 dead lifts
50 box jumps
50 floor wipers
50 clean and presses
25 pull ups

This workout came from the movie 300, to get the actors into their spartan shape. The trainer designed the program to be completed in as little time as possible to build muscle and increase muscular endurance. No, I'm not training to be a spartan πŸ˜‚but I am always up for a challenge! So I'll be adding in breaks where it's necessary and making sure I focus on my form-2 things you never want to forget about when it comes to your work out.

Do yourself a favor and take your workout front and center to the mirror. Too often we fear the mirror because that's where we find our "imperfections" but not anymore!! Looking in the mirror and using it to workout is the best thing you could do for yourself!
Why??
βœ”οΈIt's all about FORM! With a mirror you can watch yourself complete every rep and make it count!
βœ”οΈFOCUS! It's so easy for our minds to wander but for the time you are standing in front of that mirror it's all about YOU!
βœ”οΈMost importantly, you have got to be your #1 supporter! Look yourself in the eyes and tell yourself you've got this and you CAN do this!πŸ’ͺ🏻❀️
