MEET THE TEAM | TEEN/SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

Next up in our JDS Meet the Team spotlight is Malece, one of our Teen/Senior dancers! 🩵🩷

At 12 years old, Malece has already been dancing for 7 years! Her favorite styles are jazz and contemporary, and what she loves most about dancing is continuing to learn so that one day she can teach others about dance. We absolutely LOVE that!

Malece says her favorite thing about JDS is how everyone talks, laughs, and is kind to one another. She describes herself perfectly in three words: crazy, funny, and very kind! 💗

A few more fun facts about Malece: her favorite color is pink, she chooses dance shoes over sneakers, she loves history AND choreography, and the person who inspires her is her Grandma Pam!🥰

For our Sweet 16 Season, Malece is excited about meeting new people, learning how to flip, and becoming an even stronger dancer!

Malece, watching you grow up through JDS has been such a gift. Seven years down, so many memories made, and so much more ahead of you. We cannot wait to see where your love for dance and choreography takes you!

MEET THE TEAM | MINI SPOTLIGHT

Say hello to Taylen, one of our sweet JDS dancers! ✨

At just 6 years old, Taylen has already been dancing for 2 years, and both of those years have been right here at Just Dance! Her favorite style is JAZZ, and when you ask her how dancing makes her feel, her answer is simple… HAPPY! 🥹💕

Taylen describes herself as creative, energetic, and funny, and that creativity definitely shines through! She has a HUGE imagination and loves making up her own dance routines, putting her personality into every move! And something you might not know about her? She loves to cook!

Her favorite thing about being part of JDS is something that means so much to us… “We are a family.”

This Sweet 16 season, Taylen is excited about building friendships, learning new dances, and gaining new skills. And when it comes to who inspires her most, her answer is Mommy!

Beyond the dance floor, Taylen is a caring little girl with a BIG heart. She’s a wonderful big sister, loves looking out for others, and brings her own special spark everywhere she goes!

We can’t wait to watch Taylen continue to grow, create, and SHINE this season! 🌟💗

MEET THE TEAM | PETITE SPOTLIGHT

There could not be a more perfect dancer to begin our Sweet 16 Meet the Team series than our beautiful Makayla!💗✨

Makayla is 9 years old and has been dancing for six years, with five of those years spent right here at Just Dance Studio! Her favorite style is tap, she loves the color baby pink, and when Makayla dances, she says she feels INSPIRED!

And inspired is exactly how she makes us feel!

September is Alopecia Awareness Month, making Makayla’s story even more special to share. For over a year, Makayla has been navigating her journey with alopecia, but she has never allowed it to define who she is. Instead, she continues to show others the beauty of simply being YOU! 💕

She described herself in three words: Kind. Loving. Brave!!! We couldn’t agree more!

Makayla says that Mr. Ricky inspires her to become a better dancer because he believes in her, but sweet girl, you inspire me too! Watching you walk into the studio, step onto a stage, and continue becoming more confident in exactly who you are is something incredibly special!

Different is beautiful. Confidence is powerful. And there is only ONE Makayla! 🎀

This season, she hopes to grow as a dancer and can’t wait for our Disney trip, and we cannot wait to watch her SHINE every step of the way!

Happy Sweet 16, Just Dance Studio

Today, Just Dance Studio officially turns 16 years old. And I can’t think of a better way to begin celebrating this milestone than by honoring the woman I got some of my very first dance moves from… my sweet Grams. 🥹❤️

Grams LOVED music and she LOVED to dance. Give her the right song and she was ready! And that woman could s**g! I like to think a little bit of that love for music, rhythm, and dancing made its way right down to me.

When Just Dance was nothing more than a dream and 20 little dancers, Grams was there. She was there for our grand opening. She watched this little studio grow year after year. She sat through recitals, showed up at competitions, and was always close enough to remind me and my dancers that we had her support. She didn’t have to understand every costume, every routine, or every crazy idea I had… she just knew it mattered to me, so it mattered to her. ❤️

Sixteen years later, I look at what Just Dance has become and I wish more than anything that I could celebrate this Sweet 16 with her here beside me.

This is a hard post for me to make because this is our first studio birthday without her. There is such a huge difference between knowing someone was proud of you and having them here to actually see what comes next.

But when I look back at these pictures, I realize something…

She was there for the beginning.
She saw the dream when it was still small.
She watched us grow.
She cheered us on.
And her love is forever woven into the story of Just Dance Studio.

So today, as we begin celebrating 16 sweet years of JDS, I’m starting with you, Grams. 💕

I hope there’s some good music playing in Heaven today. I hope you’re s**gging across those streets of gold and telling everybody, “That’s my grandson’s dance studio.” 🥹

I would give anything to have you sitting in that audience for just one more recital.

And thank you, Grams, for giving me a little bit of your rhythm, a whole lot of your love, and for believing in this dream from the very beginning.

✨ COMPETITION TRYOUTS DAY 1 ✨

What an incredible way to kick off our Sweet 16 Season!

Tonight was filled with familiar faces we’ve watched grow over the years and brand new dancers beginning their own journey with the JDS family. Seeing the excitement, determination, and love for dance walk through our doors reminds us why we’ve been blessed to do this for 16 amazing years.

To every dancer who stepped onto the floor tonight… thank you for sharing your passion, your courage, and your heart. No matter the outcome, we’re already so proud of each of you for taking that first step.

If Day 1 is any indication of what’s to come, Season 16 is going to be something truly special.

Here’s to new friendships, unforgettable memories, hard work, growth, and another year of chasing dreams together.
