To all who knew us now or earlier at Edelweiss Farm - Epping NH . Zar, my Andalusian, passed Sunday before last. I wanted to say something about him as he was such an incredible inspiration. He suffered from complications from a broken hip bone, which healed but left him with basically 3 legs. He weathered a 34 hr trailer ride, and a category 5 hurricane. He remained my source of strength through it all. At first he wztched sadly as I rode another horse. Then he gathered his spirit and found his new role as barn dad, welcoming a new horse with kindness. He hobbled over and pushed my pocket for treats and winnied when I pulled in. He was always smiling. He showed that a disability didn't mean the end of a happy life. Although the pain is severe, his soul shines as an inspiration to us all. He was an amazing sport horse, but an even better friend. For those of you who knew him, look up and say hello to the sun.
