Elijahs Junior year has become filled with very meaningful events. He broke his school record by throwing 150 ft and change then backed it up with a new PR of 152 and change at his last meet. The following day he was honored along with other students at Pemberton Township High School by being given "The Peoples Choice Award". This award is given by staff members to very specific students who have shown 1 or more of the high schools core values of empathy, perseverance, integrity and gratitude.

There has been alot of emphasis being put on the developement of student athletes. And that can be very costly. But the investment of having your child trained at something they are good at can only help in furthering the goal of possibly making them one of the best at what they do. My husband and I took that chance and sent my chulo boy to camp at Penn University on the suggestion of his high school coach Shanna Campbell and did it pay off. He went from throwing 138 feet to 152 feet between training with a professional thrower and the coaches at Penn U. Now my boys goal is to get to 160 ft or as close as possible for Junior Olympics. The goal is set...

Today was a GREAT day for my boy... he told me that today's goal for javelin was 140 feet. On his 1st throw he did 142.... then backed it up with 150 feet! He made his mark for the road to Jr. Olympics!

Placing 1st in javlin... 2nd in his heat for 200 ...8th in discuss and 4th with his team in 4x1 my chulo boy had a great weekend! Moving on to the next round of meets for JOs!

Because of how well he did this past weekend at the school meet .. my chulo boy was named hornet of the week!

Words cannot express how proud I am of this boy and his accomplishments. This year in track was touch and go. He was down for 2 weeks and I really didn't know if he would be able to come back. But boy he did! Today he had a great PR throwing 138 feet. He told me...
Mom..im gonna try for 140... he tried.. and 138 is awesome! Keep pushing my chulo boy. Mom will be there the whole way!

Today was a good day in track and field. Chulo won overall in javelin with 132 ft throw and got 1st in his heat for the 200. Mama is proud!
