Why Strength Matters More After 65

For many adults, there comes a time when everyday tasks start feeling harder than they used to.

Getting up from a chair.
Walking up stairs.
Carrying groceries.
Playing with grandchildren.

Sometimes these changes happen slowly, and sometimes they feel sudden. Either way, they can be frustrating and even a little scary.

Many older adults begin to worry about things like:
• Losing independence
• Falling and getting injured
• Feeling out of breath doing simple tasks
• Not being able to keep up with everyday life

ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT: SUSAN 💙💪

For over 2 years, Susan has been showing up, putting in the work, and investing in her future at CFPC.

Recently, Susan received some incredible news from her doctor: she is no longer in osteopenia. 🎉👏

Let that sink in for a moment.

As women age, it is common to lose muscle mass and bone density. Many women progress from healthy bone density to osteopenia and eventually osteoporosis, increasing their risk of fractures, falls, and loss of independence.

Too often, women are told that declining bone health is simply a part of aging.

Susan's story reminds us that while aging is inevitable, becoming weak and fragile is not.

Over the past two years, Susan has consistently shown up to train, lift weights, and challenge herself. She has built strength, improved her fitness, and most importantly, invested in the health of her bones. The result? A recent bone scan showing she has successfully strengthened her bones and no longer has osteopenia.

That is a huge accomplishment and a testament to her hard work, consistency, and commitment to her health.

Susan, we are incredibly proud of you. Your dedication is inspiring, and your success is proof that it's never too late to get stronger, build muscle, improve bone health, and take control of your future.

A huge congratulations to Megan and Allie on completing their very first Thrive class at CFPC this morning! 🎉

These sisters showed up ready to give it a try, and they absolutely crushed it. There were plenty of smiles, lots of laughter, and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones—all the things we love to see in a first class.

Kids today spend more time sitting, scrolling, and staring at screens than ever before. Our CFPC Summer Kids Camp is designed to get them moving, learning, and having FUN in a positive environment with great coaches and friends.

Over 6 weeks, kids ages 8-11 will participate in games, challenges, and age-appropriate workouts that help develop:

🏃 Speed & Agility
🤸 Coordination & Balance
💪 Strength & Body Awareness
⚡ Athletic Foundations
😊 Confidence & Teamwork

But the best part? Your child won't even realize how much they're learning because they'll be having so much fun!

At CrossFit Pell City, family means everything to us. 💙

One of the greatest ways we can impact our children is by leading by example. Our kids are always watching — watching what we prioritize, how we care for ourselves, and how we show up even when it’s hard. When they see Mom and Dad making health and fitness important, they learn that taking care of their bodies matters too.

That’s why creating a family-friendly environment at CFPC is so important to us. We want fitness to be something families do together.

For kids 11 and under, there’s space to play and watch Mom and Dad work hard. For ages 12 and up, they can jump right into class beside their parents and begin building healthy habits for themselves.

We love seeing so many families training together at CFPC — couples, parents and kids, grandparents, and multiple generations all under one roof working toward better health together.
