FIXED!! The Pell City Splash Pad has been repaired and will reopen on Thursday, June 11 at 9 a.m.!

A major thank you goes out to our dedicated Pell City Parks & Recreation Maintenance staff and contractors for working so quickly to get our Splash Pad up and running again.

We also want to thank our community for your incredible patience and understanding over the last week. Come on out tomorrow and enjoy the splash pad!

The Splash Pad is open Tuesday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., and on Sundays from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. We're closed on Mondays for maintenance.

UPDATE: The Pell City Splash Pad will remain temporarily closed as our Parks & Recreation Maintenance team and contractors work through an unexpected mechanical failure.

While we initially hoped to reopen today, Friday, June 5, diagnosing the issue revealed a more difficult situation.

What’s Happening?

• The Splash Pad's main control unit has officially reached the end of its lifespan. Because the system was installed 10 years ago, this specific part is now obsolete.

• We have rush-ordered new, modern parts to completely upgrade the control system. Teams are on-site, trying to acquire and integrate these components as quickly as possible.

• Because a modern upgrade on an older system carries no guarantees, our backup plan is to completely reprogram the existing control unit. If we have to pivot to this option, it will require an extended period for our team to fully complete and test the system.

This is an incredibly unfortunate situation. Please know that our staff and outside contractors are working around the clock to resolve it because we know how much Pell City families love cooling off here.

Pell City Parks & Recreation Maintenance is working to resolve the issue, and we anticipate the Splash Pad will be fully operational this Friday, June 5.

We know this is one of our community's favorite summer spots, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
