Funeral Arrangements for Mr. Harvey

Visitation services will be held at Pelahatchie Baptist Church on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 5:00 PM.

A second visitation will take place at West Shady Grove Baptist Church in Waynesboro on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, leading to a graveside service at 2:00 PM.

NO CLASS THURSDAY NIGHT
In order for everyone to be able to attend the service Thursday Afternoon.

Honoring Mr. Mike Harvey

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Mr. Mike Harvey after a courageous battle with cancer.

Many in our community knew him as Mr. Harvey. He was a dedicated martial artist, a teacher, a leader, and for a season, the owner of this school. He invested significant time and energy into Fusion Martial Arts, not only helping sustain it, but strengthening the culture that still defines us today.

Mr. Harvey trained hard. He believed in discipline, consistency, and doing things the right way. He did not cut corners. Whether he was working forms, drilling fundamentals, or pushing through conditioning, he approached training with focus and determination. He expected effort from his students because he demanded it from himself first.

At the same time, he had a big heart. He cared about his students beyond the mat. He encouraged them. He challenged them. He wanted them to grow, not just as martial artists, but as people. Those who trained under him felt both the intensity of his standards and the sincerity of his support.

Cancer was a difficult battle, but it never defined him. What defines Mr. Harvey is his commitment to his family, to the art, his loyalty to this school, and the impact he had on the students who walked through these doors.

Fusion Martial Arts is forever grateful for the role he played in the life of this school. On behalf of our entire Fusion Martial Arts community, we honor his dedication and the example he set. His fingerprints will continue to remain in the culture of discipline and heart that we continue to uphold.

We will carry that forward.

Rest in peace, Mr. Harvey. Your legacy lives on in every student who bows onto this mat with focus, respect, and determination.

New Class Schedule Starting 1/5/2026

Monday & Thursday Evening

5:30–6:15 | Beginner Juniors Class
6:15–7:00 | Group / Family Class
7:00–7:30 | Reserved for Advanced Training / Tournament Prep / Private Classes

5:30–6:15 | Beginner Juniors Class

---Ages: 5-12 (Upper age limits may vary typically 10-12 years old)
---Ranks: White Belt - Purple Belt
This class is designed specifically for younger, beginner students who are still developing focus, discipline, and foundational martial arts skills. Instruction is structured, highly guided, and paced appropriately for junior students who are new to martial arts.
Advancement into the Group / Family Class is based on readiness, maturity, and instructor approval. Once a student earns a Blue Belt, they will move into the Group Class regardless of age.

6:15–7:00 | Group / Family Class

---Teens and Adults: All ranks (beginner to advanced)
---Juniors: Blue Belt or higher, or beginners training alongside a parent or older teen/adult sibling
This is a mixed-age, mixed-rank class designed for teens, adults, and families who want to train together. Parents and children may train side-by-side in a structured, adaptable environment, while individual teens and adults also train in this class. Younger junior students may participate only if they meet the criteria above.

7:00–7:30 | Advanced Training / Tournament Prep / Private Classes

This class time will be reserved for students attending an upcoming tournament, students enrolled in private classes and also other special classes for advanced students.

Please join me in congratulating or very own Mr. Rials, who is now Master Rials.

Master Rials has spent the last year in the Master program with GTMA and on Wednesday July 23rd, 2025, he earned the title of Master which was awarded to him in Little Rock, AR at the Eternal Grand Master H. U. Lee International Gate and Garden.

Master Rials has had the opportunity to instill the Tenets of Taekwondo into thousands of students over the decades that he has been practicing martial arts.

Being a student of Master Rials I can say that he looks for the spark in each student and works hard to help the student grow in their walk not just in Taekwondo but also to take those tenets into their day-to-day life.

Master Rials has a passion to give of himself so that others can go out and try to make the world a better place and leave it better than they found it.

Last night we decided to change it up a bit and held a tournament for the students to participate in.

Everyone gave their all for this tournament and everyone did well.

We are going to make some adjustments to how we do it, but the plan is to make this a normal part of the events at Fusion Martial Arts.
