⚽️ PEKIN PRIDE x KNOX COLLEGE 💜

What a great night for our Pekin Pride girls!

We were excited to welcome Coach Annie from Knox College and the Prairie Fire 🔥 to practice. She put the girls through a few drills, shared what it’s really like to play soccer at the college level, talked about what coaches look for in players, and gave them some great insight into the recruiting process.

These are the kinds of experiences we love being able to give our players — the chance to learn, ask questions, dream a little bigger, and see where this game can take them.

A huge thank you to Coach Annie for spending the evening with Pekin Pride and investing in our girls. We appreciate you! 💙⚽️

Good luck to our girls this weekend. A big thank you to Peoria FC United for hosting and organizing this event. It is a great opportunity for girls in central Illinois to get the opportunity to get exposure to college coaches.

🐾 WELCOME TO THE PRIDE, DIEGO ZAMUDIO! 🐾

Pekin Pride Soccer Club is proud to announce Diego Zamudio as our new Director of Coaching!

Zamudio brings an impressive combination of playing experience, coaching expertise, and a passion for developing players to the Pride.

A lifelong Illinois soccer product, Diego played his entire academic career in the state, beginning at Waukegan High School, continuing at Lincoln College, and finishing his collegiate career at Western Illinois University.

At Lincoln, Zamudio was a two-time All-MWAC selection from 2006–2008 before moving on to Western Illinois. With the Leathernecks, he quickly established himself as an important part of the program, earning Newcomer of the Year in 2008, Summit League First Team honors in 2009, and helping WIU reach the NCAA Tournament in 2009.

But Diego’s impact on the game extends well beyond his playing career.

He has been involved in coaching and player development since 2010, with experience at:

⚽ FSC Lombard — Youth Coach

⚽ Washington Community High School — Boys Soccer Assistant Coach

Zamudio holds a U.S. Soccer National C License and brings extensive experience coaching youth and competitive players throughout both Chicago and Central Illinois.

His coaching philosophy emphasizes creativity, confidence, and long-term development over results, creating environments where players are challenged, supported, and encouraged to enjoy the game.

Diego also is the owner of 1894 Sports, further expanding his work in player development and soccer education.

We are incredibly excited to bring Diego’s experience, knowledge, and commitment to player development to Pekin Pride Soccer Club.
