Pekin Dragons JFL

Pekin Dragons JFL PYFL is here to develop youth athletes into community leaders using football and cheer as tools for growth. Pekin JFL is a youth football organization.

Our goal is to provide a safe, fun and educational environment for the young athletes of Pekin to grow as football players. We start with the basics and work up from there. No experience is required to participate in any of our divisions. From our in house Flag program to our travel and tournament 14U teams we encourage any young athlete to give football a try. At the heart of our organization is

a love and passion for the game and the life lessons it can teach. You would be hard pressed to find a former football player that wouldn't say football changed their life. We have many program alumni from all walks of life that would probably credit football as a contributing factor of their success. From the Union Tradesmen to Suit and Tie professionals that have worn our uniform they all have one thing in common, at a young age they decided to play the game and it challenged them, taught them team work, how to deal with adversity, how to get knocked down and get back up and countless other valuable life lessons. That is why we are here. To provide the youth with an opportunity to play the game we love, to give them an chance to learn the lessons we've learned, to help them grow and flourish as young men and women and to help forge unbreakable bonds with their teammates many of who will become lifelong friends. We’ll be right here at 300 Koch Street in Pekin ALL DAY LONG! Come out, grab your family and friends, and spend the day watching some of your favorite young athletes do what they love! ❤️🖤

There’s nothing better than seeing these kids out on the field, working hard, having fun, and doing what makes them happy. Come cheer them on and show them what Pekin is all about! 🐉🏈

Due to the heat and current wet bulb calculations, we’ve decided to modify practice tonight.

🏈 Practice will be HELMETS ONLY from 6:00–7:00 PM.

On Wednesday, August 26, Illinois United notified JFLOCI of their decision to withdraw from the League.

Illinois United determined that JFLOCI was not the right fit for their program and families. Based on the circumstances, we agree that JFLOCI and Illinois United were not the right fit for one another, and we respect their decision to move forward in a different direction.

We also want to clarify that the circumstances contributing to this decision were specific to Illinois United’s ability to operate within JFLOCI’s established structure and guidelines and should not be viewed as representative of the experiences of our other member Areas.

Schedules for this weekend have already been updated and shared with Area Directors. Updated schedules for the remainder of the season will be released within the next few days.

We wish Illinois United, their athletes, families, and coaches all the best in their future endeavors.
