A new client came to me the other day. "You know Richie, I like my wine, I like my pasta and I'm not particularly thrilled about exercise and cardio. But I have to do something because I feel pretty crappy."
I'll call this new client Fred. I can sympathize with Fred. Although I don't like wine, I sure do like pasta and even as a professional trainer, I even get a little tired thinking about training. But I know if I don't do my daily routine, I won't feel too good and I sure won't look the part.
I've met hundreds of Fred's over my 30+ years as a trainer. From experience, I have to guide him into the lake gradually and get him accustomed to the water. Most of the time, shoving him face first into it just won't stick.
Listen, a healthier life including cleaner nutrition and more activity is just a routine that you develop. Is it easy? NO! It is simple? YES.
