As a program, we couldn’t be prouder to see how hard these guys fought all season long to finish the season 16-3 with the title of JV Boys regular season MED District Champions and also winning the MED District Championship tonight over George Wythe 44-40. Their dedication, hard work, and the time they have put in this season has shown on the basketball court. I hope their love for the game continues to grow as they transition into the offseason. Looking forward to see what future holds for this group.
Thank you to the parents who fed us and took very great care of us! To the administration and community who continued to support us all season long, to my family and friends who supported us every step of the way, making it to many games, you all are amazing! Thank you! To our coaches, you guys are the absolute best! It has been an honor to coach with you guys and can’t wait to run it again! Let’s work for next season!! Go Spartans!

Nathan never did anything halfway and that work ethic has carried on. He was a gym rat and a 6 AM workout disciple in the fall, then went to football practice in the evenings. We're so proud of Coach Nathan Tanner!

Here’s an interesting nugget

Princeton head coach Nate Tanner won a state championship as a player at Giles, Va. in 2005. Twenty years later he’s now won one as a coach. The interesting part - he won both games by a single point (35-34 and 36-35).

As Tanner said all season, “Pressure creates diamonds or it bursts pipes.” The diamonds created from this pressure-packed title game will end up in some rings.
