✨May 501 Fit Camp Spotlight ✨
Meet Sasha AKA SASSsha (IYKYK 😉)from the 5:30 WOO crew! This one hit me hard. Everyone should at least read her reason for starting. I know that so many of you can relate. I’m honored to not only call her my client, but also my friend & tequila shot girl 🩷
Here’s her story…
What made you decide to try 501 Fit camp?
I was at the airport trying to catch my connecting flight after my first plane arrived late. I only had about 5–10 minutes to make it, and the gates were on opposite sides of the airport. I started running, but after about 100 feet, I was completely out of breath. It felt ridiculous for my age, and honestly, being that out of shape was embarrassing.
I started looking for fitness centers in Hot Springs, joined two places in a row, and was disappointed. Neither of them felt personalized.
What were your initial thoughts?
I have been in many boot camps in the past in different states, and with many of them, I did not feel like I was achieving anything. Yes, I would feel somewhat strong, but not nearly as strong as 501 Fitness has offered me.
So many things to mention about 501 Fitness:
1. Miranda is highly knowledgeable in kinesiology and fitness training. She is athletic, intelligent, and exceptionally supportive. Her dedication and positive approach have contributed significantly to my progress. Above all, she is a beautiful human being.
2. The atmosphere in the group is very welcoming. Everyone is there to support you and motivate you. Never to judge you!
3. Miranda’s workouts target every muscle group and are always creative and tailored to the group. One day we might focus on the upper body, the next on the lower body, and so on. She also keeps things fun with themed workouts and games—like summer waterslides, bootcamp-style Uno, and holiday workouts. We even go hiking together sometimes. On special occasions, she mixes it up with things like yoga for mindfulness or birthday Zumba.
4. I gained a lot of knowledge about nutrition from Miranda. Exercising and eating well (not starving yourself) are the keys to building a strong, healthy body.
I always look forward to going to 501 after work—even on my hardest days. Some of my family and friends ask how or why I would work out after such a long day. My answer is simple—it’s my outlet. It clears my mind, relieves stress, and I always leave feeling better than when I walked in.
What would your advice be to anybody that is too scared or think they are too out of shape to try it?
My advice to someone who is scared to join is to go anyway. I was nervous, too, when I first walked in. Being “out of shape” is the reason to start, not a reason to avoid it. The hardest part is just walking through the door. Miranda will always modify the workouts for new members, so there is no reason to be scared. Just drive to 501, and leave the rest to Miranda. She will guide and support you every step of the way.
What have you gained being a part of 501 Fit family?
Honestly, I’ve gained so much it’s hard to put into words. I’ve learned a lot about both fitness and nutrition, but beyond that, I’ve built friendships with people who truly support and motivate me.
We even get together outside of class to run or train for 5Ks. It’s amazing to be around people who share the same mindset and goals. I used to hate running and avoided races completely, but joining 501 Fitness changed that for me. I actually fell in love with running—and even placed first female in a race, which I never would have imagined. Huge credit goes to Miranda and her training.
Since joining, I’ve lost 15 pounds, but more importantly, I feel stronger and more confident in my body than ever before.
I highly recommend 501 Fitness to anyone. It’s a safe, positive, and uplifting community where people genuinely support and motivate each other. You’re never judged, only encouraged to grow and do your best!
