Some athletes wear a brand. And then there are the ones who become it.
-Juan Benitez - is the second kind.
As Juan steps away from the PPA Tour, we at Wringer Wear couldn’t let this moment pass without saying what we’ve been lucky enough to witness up close: you are one of the most complete, hard-working, and genuine athletes we’ve ever had the honor of calling ours.
Here’s what this man accomplished:
🇨🇴 Grew up in Colombia. Trained at a tennis academy in Argentina. Became a two-time All-American at Baylor University. Then discovered pickleball - and in his very first week, made it to the finals of a 4.5+ singles event in South Florida.
🏆 Won the Kitchen Open Austin with partner Claudio Quinones, outlasting 63 teams and taking home $25,000 - not with power, but with patience, grit, and an unshakeable game plan.
🏅 Competed as a PPA Tour Pro across Singles, Men’s Doubles, AND Mixed Doubles - holding his own against the best in the world.
🐻 Repped the California Black Bears in MLP with everything he had.
📚 All while being Head Pro Coach at and mentoring the next generation of pros. The sport gave to him - and he gave it right back.
And through every match, every flight, every early morning and late-night grind - he did it in Wringer Wear. Representing this brand with a level of class, style, and athletic excellence that we will never take for granted.
Juan - from the entire Wringer family, THANK YOU. Thank you for trusting us to be on your journey. Thank you for showing up, competing, coaching, and inspiring. The courts will feel your absence, but your impact on this sport is already permanent.
This is not goodbye. This is a new chapter for one of the best humans pickleball has ever had. 🙏
Dry hands. Fast hands. Legend’s hands. 🤝
