How does your level of activity change how you eat? Read & Swipe to find out moreā”ļø
ā¢
Letās start by breaking down the Macronutrients & their priority in digestion:
1. Carbohydrates - Fastest digesting macronutrient & most usable form of energy
2. Proteins - second fastest digested macronutrient - last resort energy source - responsible for repair, hormone production, waste removal (enzymatic), cell comms/transport
3. Lipids (Fats)- Slowest digesting macronutrient, longest lasting form of energy - broken down after carbohydrate storage is depleted
ā¢
Now, letās look at how the body uses these macronutrients for your level of activity:
Low Activity = Less Time in Aerobic Cellular Respiration ā”ļø We need less carbohydrates for immediate energy use
Moderate Activity = more time in Aerobic Cellular Respiration, but not so much that we need to ācarb loadā prior to training
High Activity = greatest amount of time spent in aerobic cellular respiration -or- largest calorie output, ā¬ļø need for carbohydrate consumption
