Course #50
Little Chiques Creek
Mount Joy Pennsylvania
Brand new nine hole course with concrete tees that play to Innova Discatcher targets. The targets were transplanted here from Shiprock DGC as a result of the new targets placed at Shiprock for the 2019 Am Worlds. The numbers still need to be changed so that could be a little confusing. Beautiful tee signs make it easy to navigate the course. The course is fairly open with a few mature trees along the fairways. Hole one is a little tricky and brings the creek into play.

We're half way there! Glenn, Laura, and I had a wonderful time playing the new course. Laura only played a couple holes but, she played them well. Glenn got the only birdie on the round with a nice park job on hole seven. I was paring along until the last hole and missed the 40' putt for par. Fun was had by all!

Course #49
Westleigh Recreation Club
North Potomac Maryland
Fun recreational 9 hole course with natural tees that play to DGA targets. The course plays through some shared use areas. Very basic tee signs on most of the holes. Threes tee was MIA. Several holes play over each other. On the positive side the property was very well maintained.

This was the third course of the day. Bobby made a nice putt to save par on the first hole. After we finally found hole two, I pured my drive just over the crest of the hill and ended up just inside circle one for a nice birdie. We decided to pick a spot by the swimming pool to tee off for hole three. Bobby's only bad hole was number four where he hacked his way to a five. I had a nice Turkey on four, five, and six. Bobby parked hole seven for a solo birdie. I called the skip shot off the road on hole eight and almost cashed the ace on a beautiful flare. The adventures continue.

Course #48
Darnstown Swim and Racquet Club
Germantown Maryland
This is a tightly wooded 18 hole course with natural tees that play to Innova Discatcher targets. Nice elevation changes add to the challenge with a few precarious pin placements. A stream comes into play on several holes. Good balance of left, right, and straight shots. The temporary tee signs were fading and need to be replaced with permanent signs. It would have been difficult to navigate without a local guide.

We started out with a couple nice drives on the first hole. I got up and down for good threes on the first two holes and had an easy putt for birdie on hole three. After Bobby hit the teatherball pole on his approach to hole two he said "I couldn't do that again if I tried" well, he hit it again on hole five... appearently lightning does strike the same place twice. Bobby took the pad with a nice putt for three on hole nine. Bobby landed in the water a couple times on the back nine. I was scrambling for my pars for most of the round. Both of us made some very nice putts.

Course #47
Seneca Creek State Park
Gaithersburg Maryland
This is a beautiful old 27 hole course that plays in three nine hole loops. Natural and older concrete tees play to DGA targets. There are multiple tees and target locations on each hole. Good balance of open and wooded holes. Fair variety of shots. Good tee signs.
I had to dig into the ashtray to get enough change to pay for the $5 entry fee for the Park.

Bobby invited his friend Chris to join us for the first round of today's adventure. We agreed to play the executive 18 hole layout today. This layout is top secret and blends several holes from each nine. We started out on hole one and decided to play to the long pin. I'm contending that this is a par four and our scores reflect my opinion as Chris and I got four and Bobby got a five. There were several great putts on the day but my putt for birdie from 80' stood out as the putting highlight. Chris made the highlight reel with the drive of the day on hole 11 parking the 300' drive. Bobby's four on hole 18 long to long consisted of two great drives a solid upshot and a good putt. Apparently the two meter rule is in effect at Seneca as Chris' drive on hole 22 got stuck in a cedar and he took the stroke penalty. We capped off the round playing 27 long to long with Chris and I both carding solid fours.

Course #46
South Hills
Lebanon Pennsylvania
This is a Championship level course with concrete tee pads that play to Innova Discatcher targets. There are two targets on each hole. The course wanders up and down gentle rolling hills and through mature trees. There are multiple options from most of the tees for left handed or right handed players. Both the long and short layouts have a good variety of long and short holes. Great tee signs make it easy to find your way around the course.

Today's round was suggested by Greg Easton when we were playing Sam Lewis. It is awesome to have more people pushing towards the goal of 100 courses in 2020. Our friend Zach Mantz and Lexi joined us for this morning's round. Zach started out with a brutal tree kick OB and ended up carding a 7 on hole one. Zach recovered from his rough start carding four birdies on the round including back to back park jobs on 16 and 17. Greg, Lexi, and I all went birdie free and Greg won the round with a consistent run of pars and just a few bogeys. Lots of great drives and solid putting from the group as a whole. It was a beautiful morning for Disc Golf.

Course #45
Leister Park
Hampstead Maryland
This is a fun nine hole course with concrete tee pads that play to Innova Discatcher targets. It starts out with a couple open holes and then plays through the woods. There are subtle elevation changes and nice clean fairways. Good balance of left, right, and straight options. Great tee signs make it easy to figure out where to throw. Bring a snack for the walk back to the parking lot from hole nine.

I had the honor of playing the course with the man who proposed and designed the course. A few holes were modified from the original design. Lots of potential for an additional nine holes here. The round started out with a couple nice easy pars. Bobby was regaling me with stories about his adventures and ideas that he had for the design. I got the only birdie on the round with a nice drive and putt on hole seven. We did see people out enjoying the course. It was a beautiful day for Disc Golf.

Course #44
Patapsco Valley State Park
Marriottsville Maryland
This is a beautiful 18 hole course plays through some old growth wooded fairways. It features spacious crushed stone tees and plays to DGA targets. There are two tees and two targets on every hole. Unfortunately there are no tee signs so it makes it challenging to navigate the course. Lots of options for added fun here.

Bobby and I decided to play short to short so we would have time and energy to get a second course in for the day. We learned that even the short course has teeth at Patapsco. Bobby got the first birdie on the day parking hole three with his Leopard3. We both had looks at birdies along the way but we just couldn't connect the dots. I finally got off the snide and parked hole #15 for my only birdie on the round. We lost Bobby's roller on hole 18 to skew the final score.

This is a great 18 hole course with concrete tee pads that play to DGA targets. The tee signs make it easy to navigate through the campground. Great balance of open and wooded holes. Nice use of the elevation changes make this a top notch course. Three hole's have new pin positions.

Today's round was a spontaneous one... so much so that I didn't have a good charge on my phone. Rich volunteered to take pictures of the round and send them to me. Thank you for the great pictures Rich!

We started out on hole two and I managed the only four on the card, the tee sign says par five so we agreed to call it a birdie. Lots of great shots and good putts on the round. Dan was ripping some great drives out in the open holes. Todd had a nice birdie on the newly located pin for hole six. The shot of the day went to Rich when he canned an 80 footer for his birdie on hole seven. Dan tried to take those bragging rights with his approach on hole one banging off the cage from 150'.

This is a beautiful 18 hole course. It has concrete tee pads that play to DGA Mach Vs on the front nine and Innova Discatchers on the back nine. The tee signs are numbered without any additional information on them. There are a couple fairly open holes to start out with a nice pond and a small stream that come into play. The majority of the course plays through heavily wooded fairways. There is a good balance of left, right, and straight shots. The course makes excellent use of the elevation changes. Interesting rock formations add to the challenge and the beauty of the pin placements.

I had the honor of a local guide for today's round. Course designer Brian Hoch met me at the course to show me around. I started out with a great drive and a decent upshot on the long hole one. Unfortunately, my putt for three missed the mark and rolled OB. I doinked the comeback putt and started out with a circle six. With a bogey four on hole two a nice par on hole three and another OB assisted double bogey five on hole four I was positioned nicely for a small straight on the card. I settled in and played the rest of the course with mostly threes and fours. I managed to complete the straight with a nice birdie on the 17th hole. Brian showed me a couple spots where he is thinking about expanding the course. We had a great time chatting and saw several deer wandering around the course with us.

Lake Harmony Pennsylvania
It claims to be a 20 hole course... we had trouble finding 18. Concrete tees play to a variety of DGA targets. There are two targets on most of the holes. There are simple tee signs on most of the holes identifying the hole # and par for the A or B target. Distances and direction would be helpful additions to the signs. There are a nice variety of shots on this mostly open layout with a variety of trees and bushes along the fairways. Subtle elevation changes add to the fun.

The road leading to the course is closed and the course felt a little abandoned. The grass has been mowed so, that was a plus. My round started with a nice par on the first hole. I just missed the 30' putt for birdie on hole two. As I was about to tee off on hole four two gentlemen appeared out of nowhere and asked if I was familiar with the course. I admitted that I had played here several times but, it had been awhile. I asked them if they wanted to play along and they accepted. We had an absolutely delightful round of golf. Joe and Jonathan have just stated playing within the last month or so and both are showing good potential. We chatted about the history of the game and I told them that the upper course has a couple of Sedgley Woods original targets. Not sure what the scores were but, I had a lot of pars and one birdie. Joe and Jonathan both made a couple of nice putts.

This is a beautiful nine hole course with rubber tee pads that play to DGA targets. Great use of the elevation changes. The fairways are moderately open with mature trees to navigate around. Good tee signs make it easy to navigate abound the course.

Greg Easton was the driving force behind today's adventure. He works third shift and invited me to join him for a morning round. We started out with a couple nice pars on the first hole. I scrambled on hole two and made a decent putt to save par. My drive on three went deep into the rough. I was happy with my bogey and Greg got up and down for his par. We paced each other for the rest of the round with a couple of tough bogeys and no birdies. The putt of the day was Gregs par save on the elevated hole eight.

Course #39
Rock Mountain Bible Camp
South Gibson Pennsylvania
This is the third church camp course that I've played this year and all three were outstanding. Discs are available for loan at the campsite check in. Day use fee is $5 and it is totally worth every penny. Good signage makes it easy to navigate the course and the course maps on the scorecards help too. Natural tees play to Innova Discatcher targets. Most holes have two tee areas Blue long and Red Short. This course has a good balance of long and short holes from both sets of tees. Dramatic elevation changes add to the challenge. The lake comes into play on a couple holes most significantly on Blue five (loaner disc users must play Red fives tee) lots of open well mowed fairways with several holes playing through some tightly wooded areas. Natural and man made features add to the beauty, including a laid stone wall that winds through a few holes.

My round started a bit rough with a roll away four on the first hole and a double bogey six on hole two. I settled in and played much better for the rest of the round. I made several nice putts and pured a few drives through the woods. I got a couple nice birdies on the back nine and finished +2 on the day.
