Known as the Hammock Coast Golf Trail, this serene area encompasses a twenty-mile stretch of coastline between historic Georgetown and Myrtle Beach with the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the scenic Waccamaw River to the west. Comprised of the townships of Murrells Inlet, Litchfield and Pawleys Island in an area locally known as the Hammock Coast, the Hammock Coast Golf Trail offers a noticeably q

uiet, less crowded and more relaxed vacation for those who want to enjoy their downtime. The 12 golf courses making up the Hammock Coast Golf Trail include Blackmoor, Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, Founders Club at Pawleys Island, Litchfield Country Club, Pawleys Plantation, River Club, Tournament Players Club, Tradition Club, True Blue Plantation, Wachesaw Plantation East, Wedgefield Country Club and Willbrook Plantation. Most of the courses were built upon the sites of 18th and 19th century rice and indigo plantations, set amid ancient moss-draped oaks and tidal rivers. The list of accolades for the Hammock Coast Golf Trail includes GOLF Magazine’s “America’s Top 100”, Golf for Women’s “Top 25 in America”, six 4½ -star courses and one of only three 5-star courses in the southeast as rated by Golf Digest. The Hammock Coast Golf Trail offers a variety of accommodation options from villas with lake or golf course views, hotel suites or full resort experiences for Trail guests. Off the course, the Hammock Coast Golf Trail offers award-winning restaurants, a treasure trove of unique shops, historic points of interest, tranquil beaches and a wide assortment of resort amenities and accommodations.
