Avalon Resort Pickle Ball We wish to welcome players of all skills to play Clothing Optional Pickleball in a comfortable environment. http://www.usapa.org/what-is-pickleball/

Pickleball is a paddle sport for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. Pickleball combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Typically play with four players. Paddles made of wood or composite materials are used to hit a perforated polymer ball,

similar to a wiffle ball, over a net. Pickleball at Avalon is always free. Typically you will find players on the courts around 10:00 AM Saturdays and Sundays. If you are already staying at Avalon, come on down and jump in. If you want to visit for the just the Pickleball contact the office and they will try get you in touch with someone who can es**rt you in and out on the day you want to play. We have paddles available for those who don't have their own and plenty of balls on the courts. Please make sure you bring sneakers to play in. Hope to see you there!

Avalon Music Fest weekend, August 8th to August 10th is expected to bring a larger than usual crowd to the pickleball courts. Come on down and check it out. The usual weekend times start around 10AM on Saturdays and Sundays. However some people like to start earlier and you may find them down there waiting for those others who would like to play early too.
Bring your sneakers. Paddles, balls, and nets are provided. Any level is welcome to play. If there is some hesitation there will be five nets set up each morning so you should be able to practice on your own, if you like, until you feel comfortable to jump in on a game.

Finally: The original court has been repainted (with the original paint). This was done by hand to use up the leftover paint. However we have a new line machine now and hope to repaint the other courts soon. Hopefully before Avalon Fest. Anyone up for assisting with some of the upgrades let us know here or come down to the courts the weekend before Avalon Fest.

A lot of folks visit this page regularly. Let's see if we can use it to get more Pickleball play at Avalon. Though regular Pickleball happens at Avalon, people are still often looking for others to play with. Most play happens Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays mornings starting at 10:00. Ask around (maybe post here?) if you would like to start earlier or at other times and you may find others to play with.

Thanks everyone for coming out this Labor Day weekend for the Pickleball games and events and hot dogs. Thank you Lisa for arranging it all; cooking the hot dogs, building the wine rack prize, arranging the games, and all else. A good time was had by all.

WOW.... what a hot weekend for some great pickleball playing. The pool was refreshing for sure. We played for several hours in the heat with 2 nets setup. Until next weekend....
