🌼🐴 NEVER BEEN TO A SUPER TRAIL? HERE’S WHAT TO EXPECT! 🐴🌼

If you’ve never attended a Super Trail event before, don’t worry—you are definitely not alone!

The Wind River Super Trail combines horsemanship, problem-solving, obstacle work, and a whole lot of fun into one unique event. Think of it as a chance for horse and rider teams to work through a variety of obstacles that test trust, communication, confidence, and skill.

Or as we like to say…

🤠 It’s kind of like American Ninja Warrior…but with horses. 🤣

Throughout the weekend you’ll see competitors navigating bridges, gates, raised platforms, drags, noodle alleys, backup obstacles, our groovy-themed challenges, and plenty of surprises along the way!

🌼 What else can you expect?

🐴 Riders of all experience levels
🌼 Groovy costumes and decorated horses
🎵 Live music Saturday evening at 5:00 PM featuring The Bob & Marty Show

🌼✌️ WHAT’S THE BEST COSTUME FOR A HORSE SHOW? ✌️🌼

With our “Let’s Get Groovy” theme this year, we’ve been getting a lot of questions about costumes!

The short answer?

🌸 Have fun.
🌸 Be creative.
🌸 Be safe.

🐴 FOR RIDERS

Bell bottoms? Sure.
Fringe jacket? Absolutely.
Groovy sunglasses for photos? Why not!

But remember, you’re still riding a horse and navigating obstacles.

✅ Long pants
✅ Riding boots
✅ Youth riders and English riders must wear helmets
✅ Costumes that allow safe movement
✅ Horse-safe, water-based paint

❌ Dangly accessories that could catch on obstacles
❌ Anything that could hook on a saddle horn
❌ Costumes that restrict vision or movement

Our favorite test:

✋ Run your hands down your outfit.

If your fingers get caught on something, there’s a pretty good chance an obstacle might too! 🤣

🎨🐴 Horse paint is encouraged! Peace signs, flowers, tie-dye, smiley faces, groovy patterns—go wild! Just make sure it’s non-toxic and water-based.

☮️🌼 FOR ATTENDEES

Want to join the fun? We hope you do!

Groovy shirts, bell bottoms, fringe, flower crowns, vintage western wear, and 60s/70s-inspired outfits are all welcome.

Just remember:

☀️ Dress for Wyoming weather
👢 Closed-toe shoes are recommended
🧴 Sunscreen is your friend
😎 Hats and sunglasses are never a bad idea

And one final piece of advice…

🏖️ Sand has a remarkable ability to leave the arena and somehow end up absolutely everywhere.

Maybe avoid anything that gets sticky. 🤣😂🤣

Whether you’re competing, spectating, volunteering, or just stopping by to enjoy the vendors, food, and music, we can’t wait to see everyone’s groovy style next weekend!

✌️🌼🐴 Let’s Get Groovy! 🐴🌼✌️

🌾🍔🚚 Vendor Spotlight: Good Portions Food Truck 🚚🍔🌾

We are excited to welcome Good Portions back to the Wind River Super Trail for another great weekend of food, community, and good company!

Whether you’re fueling up before your run, grabbing lunch between classes, or looking for a hearty meal after a day at the arena, Good Portions has you covered. This year’s menu will feature:

🍔 Burgers
🌮 Taco Burgers
🐖 Pulled Pork
🌭 Hot Dogs
🍟 Hand-Cut Fries
🥓 Breakfast Offerings Each Morning
➕ And more!

One thing that sets Good Portions apart is their commitment to quality ingredients and supporting local agriculture. They proudly use Wyoming beef, and their famous fresh-cut fries are fried in tallow for that classic flavor you just can’t beat.

On Sunday, they’ll be featuring burgers made with beef from Lazy M&M Beef, bringing another local producer to the table and continuing their mission of supporting regional agriculture.

But Good Portions is more than just great food.

Good Portions operates as a non-profit organization, serving homemade meals throughout the year to help support those in need within our community. Every meal purchased helps support that mission, meaning your lunch at the Wind River Super Trail is helping make a difference long after the event is over.

As their motto says:

💙 Eat Good. Do Good.

Be sure to stop by, grab a bite, and help support a business that is feeding both people and community.

Payment Accepted:
💵 Cash
📱 Venmo

We’ll see you at the food truck! 🍔🐎🌾

🌾🐄🥚 Sponsor Spotlight: Siersma Family Farms🥚🐄🌾

The Wind River Super Trail is proud to recognize Siersma Family Farms of Shepherd, Montana as one of our valued 200-Level Sponsors!

For the past four years, the Siersma family has been dedicated to producing high-quality local food while building strong connections within their agricultural community. Currently managing a flock of more than 100 chickens, they proudly market their products through the Yellowstone County Food Hub and continue to grow their operation with plans to expand into both beef and dairy cattle in the future.

At the heart of the farm is a passion for local agriculture, responsible food production, and supporting the communities that support them. Their commitment to farm-to-table values, community involvement, and stewardship of the land reflects the same principles that make rural communities thrive.

Many of us in the horse world know Sarah not only for her agricultural pursuits but also for her dedication to the equine community. While working toward becoming a fully certified accountant, she somehow still finds time to stay involved in agriculture, horses, and community projects alike—a balancing act many horse people know all too well!

I’ve been fortunate to call Sarah a friend for nearly ten years, and it’s been wonderful watching the Siersma family continue to grow their operation while staying true to their values of hard work, local food, and community support.

Please join us in thanking Siersma Family Farms for helping make the 2026 Wind River Super Trail possible. Sponsors like these are what allow events like ours to continue bringing together horsemen, families, businesses, and communities from across the region.

Thank you for supporting local agriculture, local events, and the people who keep both moving forward! ❤️
