Yesterday, our Promotoras and community members attended the Behavior Health Advisory Committee Meeting at the Hammon Senior Center, where they shared how the support of Promotoras has positively impacted their mental health and overall wellbeing. With courage, they shared their experiences with isolation, cancer, severe depression, and suicidal thoughts and how connection, support, and the accompaniment of Promotoras helped them on their journey towards wellness. We are grateful with the Director of BHRS Ruben Imperial and the committee for planting the seed through RAIZ and investing in the work of the Promotoras. Today we see that seed growing and bearing fruit through empathy , love, connection, and care in our community. We also celebrate the collaboration between this committee and Del Puerto Health Center as the plan to expand access to mental health services and continue working to overcome barriers to care. When we invest in our community, wellness grows. ❤️
Ayer, nuestras Promotoras y miembros de la comunidad asistieron à la Reunion del Comite Asesor de Salud Conductal en el Centro para Personas Mayores Hammon, donde compartieron como el apoyo de las Promotoras ha tenido un impacto positivo en su salud mental y bienestar. Con valentia, hablaron de sus experiencias con el aislamiento, el cancer , la depresion severa y pensamientos suicidas, y de como la conexion, el apoyo y el acompanamiento de las Promotoras les ayudaron en su camino hacia el bienestar. Agradecemos al Director Ruben Imperial y al comite por plantar la semilla a travez de nuestra Promotora RAIZ y confiar en el trabajo de las Promotoras. Hoy vemos como esa semilla sigue creciendo, dando frutos de empatia, amor, conexion, y cuidado en nuestra comunidad. Tambien celebramos al escuchar que el comite esta colaborando con Del Puerto Health Center para ampliar el acceso a servicios de salud mental y continuar trabajando para superar las barreras al cuidado . Cuando invertimos en nuestra comunidad, el bienestar crece. ❤️
