2012 PCYC SWIM TEAM INFORMATION SHEET Summer is fast approaching. So is the PCYC Swim Team season. Once again we will be competing in the Mississippi Coast Swim League along with Bayou Bluff, Diamondhead, Gulfport Yacht Club, E-Fitness and a new team, Gulfport Recreation Center. Our coach is G*e Campbell and our PCYC parent liaison is Jenny Moore. Their contact information is at the bottom of this sheet. We will begin practices on Tuesday, May 1st at 4:30pm. Practices will be held each weekday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, until school lets out, at which time we will switch to 8am morning practices. A schedule of morning practices will be given out at a later date. We intend to shift the morning schedules by age groups to allow more water time for each group. Groups will be broken down this year as follows: Groups: 5-10 years (swim 25 yards) 11-18 years (swim 50 & 100 yards) Swim Wear: As in the past, we have a swim suit uniform that we ask all swimmers to wear, particularly to our meets and for photo day. The schedule will show you what day we will host suit fittings. If for some reason this is inconvenient for you, you may always go to Run-n-Tri in Gulfport to purchase the team’s suit. Swim caps for swimmers are optional. Registration: Fees for joining the swim team: PCYC member fee: $110.00 Non-member fee: $ 145.00 Late Registration: Add $100.00 (late registration applies to those who have not registered by May 15th) Late registrants will be accepted until May 20th . If you are not registered by May 20th you will not qualify for the 2012 team. Included in Fees: The registration fee includes practice time, meet fees, league fees, team t-shirt the banquet. The registration fee DOES NOT include swim-wear. Meets: We are very fortunate this year to be able to host TWO swim meets. We host our first meet on May 31st (Thursday) and our second meet on June 26th (Tuesday). We will need a lot a parent involvement and volunteers to make these meets successful. G*e and Jenny will have more information on signing up to volunteer as we get closer to the season’s competitions. New This Year! We have a page this year for the PCYC Swim Team.
