Yellow Jackets Skydiving Team

Yellow Jackets Skydiving Team A high performance, fast paced skydiving demonstration team. There are three parts to our show. Sporto, Marshall and Garet usually swoop in around 70+ mph.

Yellow Jackets Skydiving Demo Team shows two of the fast paced skydiving disciplines that most demo teams do not perform; Swopping and Wingsuiting. Part 1: Swooping consists of flying a smaller than normal (typically less than 100 sq ft) cross-braced skydiving canopy so it dives toward the ground and builds up speeds in excess of 100 mph. Then flattening out the angle of attack so the person surfs

across the ground. We jump out of the plane with smoke between 5,000-9,000 feet (we offer expositions at multiple altitudes) with thick smoke so spectators can see the transition from their advanced freefall maneuvers to canopy and can see the canopies trail from where it dives straight to the ground then changes its angle and swoops across the ground. At these speeds you can hear the wind whistling through the lines of the canopy. Part 2: A wingsuit is often incorrectly referred to as a "flying squirrel suit". Wingsuit flying will allow a skydiver to travel a couple miles across the ground within their freefall time. It increases the horizontal speed and decreases the fallrate of the jumper. Our wingsuiters exit the plane between 5,000-9,000 feet (we offer expositions at multiple altitudes) with thick smoke and you're able to see the miles of ground they cover along with smoke designs they make in the sky. Part 3: Audience Interaction after the jump is the one part we consider to be the most important than any other part of our performance. After we finish our performance we go directly into the crowd and pass out stickers to children, sign autographs, take pictures and interact with the audience. The crowd is always in awe when seeing a new aviation discipline like swooping or wingsuiting for the first time.
