Caltech Racing

We are Caltech's Formula SAE team. Competing in the 2021 FSAE Electric Competition, this is our 4th year of competition.

Founded in 2014 by seven Caltech alumni, Caltech Racing strives to showcase the interdisciplinary collaboration emphasized here at Caltech. Our team of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers works with Computer Scientists, Machinists, and Business Majors to compete with other collegiate level FSAE teams on the international stage. As students, we aim for excellence in both the classroom and the proje

cts we partake in. Our goal as a team is to prepare our students for engineering challenges in the real world, through integrated projects that build from engineering theory into engineering reality. With help from our sponsors and advisors, we’ve been able to pursue this goal, and are ready to solve any challenge that comes our way.

We’re grateful that VI-Grade is continuing to sponsor the Caltech Racing Team this upcoming season! We couldn’t prepare for the FSAE Electric competition as effectively without their software, and we appreciate the help they provide!

Last week Caltech Racing competed in the Formula SAE Electric Competition in Lincoln, NE for the 3rd time! Here are some notable highlights:

- Our car passed the Accumulator, Electrical, and Mechanical Technical Inspections for the first time in Caltech Racing history.
- This year our team scored more points than we ever have before.
- We placed 2nd in the Sales Presentation event.
- We placed 22nd overall despite not being able to participate in the dynamic events.
