Pulling into the campground? Here are our favorite tips for hooking up your water the right way!
Use a drinking-water-safe hose. Look for one labeled for potable water, and never use it for anything else.
Always use a pressure regulator. Campground water pressure can be high enough to damage your RV’s plumbing. A regulator is cheap insurance.
Flush the spigot first. Run the campground spigot for a few seconds before connecting to clear out any dirt or debris.
Add an inline water filter. It helps reduce sediment and improves taste and smell.
Use a 90-degree elbow at the inlet. It reduces strain on the hose and connection and prevents kinks.
Check for leaks after turning it on. Look at every connection and inside under the sinks.
Cap your hose ends when you pack up. It keeps dirt and bugs out until your next trip.
Keep fresh and sewer gear separate. Store them apart and wash your hands between handling each.
