Mets Walk-Off In Nail-Biter Against Giants

It came down to the wire on Sunday, as Mets grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 14-13, over Giants. The game was tied at 13 in the bottom of the ninth when Erik Holmen doubled, scoring one run.
Mets collected 24 hits and Giants had 15 in the high-scoring affair.
Mets got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Max Swenson doubled, scoring two runs, and Brandon Reckline singled, scoring one run.
Four more Mets runs crossed the plate in the second inning to extend the lead to 7-0. Angel Santos singled, scoring one run, and Prechae Rodriguez homered to center field, scoring three runs.
Giants scored five runs on two hits in the top of the third inning. John Staniszeski singled, scoring one run, Angel Mendez drew a walk, scoring one run, Chris Van Brandt drew a walk, scoring one run, Eddie Flores Jr drew a walk, scoring one run, and Angel Mendez scored after tagging up.
Mets added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Jay Blackwell doubled to center field, Angel Santos grounded out, and Brendon Leslie singled, each scoring one run.
Edward Soto tripled to center field, which helped Giants tie the game at 13 in the top of the eighth.
Brandon Reckline pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Mets. The reliever allowed nine hits and seven runs while, striking out three and walking four. Erik Holmen stepped on the mound first for Mets. The starting pitcher allowed four hits and five runs over two and one-third innings, striking out three and walking four. Jimi Franklin led things off on the hill for Giants. The pitcher gave up 17 hits and 12 runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one.
Mets piled up 24 hits in the game. Erik Holmen went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Mets in hits. Justin Sleeper and Prechae Rodriguez each drove in three runs for Mets. Brendon Leslie, Jay Blackwell, Brandon Reckline, Max Swenson, Troy Swenson, and Angel Santos each collected multiple hits for Mets. Mets turned one double play in the game. Mets were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Justin Sleeper made the most plays with 11.
Giants piled up 15 hits in the game. Number eight hitter, Joseph Giannie, showed the depth of Giants's lineup, by leading them with three hits in four at bats. Keith Johnson, Chris Van Brandt, and Eddie Flores Jr each drove in two runs for Giants. Angel Mendez and John Staniszeski each collected multiple hits for Giants. Giants had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 11 walks for the game. Keith Johnson and Chris Van Brandt led the team with two free passes each. Keith Johnson stole five bases. Giants ran wild on the base paths, piling up seven stolen bases for the game. Giants turned one double play in the game.
