Patty Maizels – Records Chair
This mother of four has been an active competitor both on the Senior National level and the Masters World level for multiple years. She has also served as the USAW Athlete Representative for the Technical Committee for past 3 years. For the past 2 consecutive years she has earned the coveted Masters Grand Slam Award (winning gold at the Master Nationals, Master Americ
an Open, Master Pan American, and Master Worlds). In her first 2 years in the masters division she has recorded 11 Pan American records and 5 World Game records. On a state level she has taken the MD/PV LWC records in multiple weight classes as both a senior and master athlete. Lastly, in the sport of Powerlifting she held the USAPL National Back Squat record in 2012 and most of 2013. Here again she is a record holder in multiple Powerlifting lifts and weight classes at the state level. Having integrated weightlifting into the fabric of her family, Patty has risen to the rank of USAW National Coach, and recently opened a youth-centric weightlifting gym in Parkton, MD.
