First layover for them. They look 👀 k great! Amy M Whitaker is the best transporter and I am beyond greatful she is going off her typically routes to bring them to me. At least two more layovers before she gets here. Winter weather is a concern but she is being cautious and taking her time. My movers accidentally packed all my horse blankets. She provided blankets to keep them warm.

Donkeys and horses are on their way! I know they will have excellent care on their long trip here with Amy M Whitaker doing the hauling for us.

So we made our move back to Oregon. This is for all the people who give up their animals because it’s too inconvenient to take them. I took 27 chickens, 3 cats, all who were dumped on us, 4 dogs, all rescues( should have been 5 but we lost one the day before we left to congestive heart failure). 3 donkeys ( rescues) and 2 horses are being transported this Saturday from Arkansas to Oregon. It’s not easy or cheap to travel with that many animals 2400 miles. But we made a commitment when we took them on. We would not dump any one of them. One of my cats was dumped 18 years ago that we committed to. They all had their vaccines and health certificates. Each chicken needed bloodwork before being moved across state lines. It was stressful. But totally worth it. If you have a pet. Do the right thing. Don’t take them to the pound because it’s going to be too difficult to take them. We are their security and their family.

Olive egger rooster. Non aggressive to humans and his flock. With the exception of one very old hen. For some reason he despises her. Not sure if it’s because she is past the reproduction age or because she is the only speckled hen in the bunch. He is two years old. I trust him implicitly walking into their coop and run. He was hatched and raised on our property. Father was a Rhode Island Red and mother an Araucana. His female siblings all lay olive eggs with the exception of one who lays a tan egg. I guess the RIR gene is more prominent in her. Anyway, this old hen has been with us for years and she deserves to live out the rest of her life without fear for her life. And I honestly no longer need a rooster. Looking for a new roost for him. Located in Charleston, AR.

Tack room is done. Just have some artwork to hang. I’m so happy with how it turned out. My sewing machine is in here too for mending horse blankets.
