Welcome, Coach Zach Pfantz!

Coach Pfantz grew up in Melbourne, Iowa, where he played running back for the 1999 Class 1A State Champions, West Marshall. After this season, he would be named the team MVP and Captain of the Class 1A all-state team. After graduating from high school, Pfantz played for Coe College, where he was a four-year letter winner and an all-Iowa Conference linebacker for the Kohawks. Once his college playing days were up he served on the Kohawk staff coaching as an assistant coaching multiple position groups. Then, after three years, he would serve as Head Coach at Akron-Westfield High School. After this short stint, he would be a part of the staff at Central College as both Defensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator. After being part of Central's Staff, he would serve as the head coach at Ottumwa High School for three years. In 2015, Coach Pfantz was hired as the head coach at Bondurant-Farrar High School, where he would lead them to a Dome trip in 2023. Due to this success, Coach would be named the Iowa Football Coaches Association Class 4A coach of the year for the 2023 season. Coach Pfantz most recently coached at Waukee Northwest as a coach for Outside Linebackers. Mr. Pfantz will, beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, teach high school PE and be the Head Football Coach here at Aplington-Parkersburg!

We are truly very excited to announce this hire to our communities, as we believe Coach Pfantz will represent what it means to be a true A-P Falcon!
