Updates from this past week. Top walls framed, trusses up and roof over locker rooms, bathrooms and storage garage framed.

Walls are all up!

We still need your help as we get closer to being under roof and starting on the interior. This is a completely, privately funded project to date. No public monies are being used to build this facility that will benefit the youth and broader community. We are fortunate to have some very passionate alumni and friends of rowing who have stepped forward to make this dream a reality but we are still in need of roughly $45k to finish the interior including boat/oar racks, storage, lockers, bathroom fixtures, electric, plumbing, etc.

In rowing terms, we are in the ‘last 500’ and looking to finish strong and have a result everyone will be proud of for decades to come.

We invite you to be part of this historic project and donate what you can. Every $1 is an investment in the future of our youth and community.

First sections of the walls are up. Part of the strategic design of the boathouse was to use formed concrete walls to be more flood and fire resistant. Concrete walls are 8’ high and the main building will also have an additional 4’ of framed wall on top of that for a total of 12’.

Construction is moving quickly however, we still need your help to fund completion of the interior including boat racks, oar racks, storage, fixtures for men’s/women bathrooms, ADA compliant restroom, lockers, benches, electric, lighting, painting, etc.

South Crew has consistently been represented at national rowing championships throughout the years and we are proud to once again be invited to the national level.

Join me in congratulating Izzy Early and Abigail Griffith for their invitation to row the 2- at the USRowing Youth National Rowing Championships in Sarasota, Florida!

They kickoff things off tomorrow morning in a time trial starting at 8:30AM. You can follow their results here:

We need your help! Construction is underway on the new South Parkersburg Rowing Center and we have been fortunate to receive some very generous donations to fund construction to the point of having a fully weatherproof building. However, we still need your help to fund completion of the interior including boat racks, oar racks, storage, fixtures for men’s/women bathrooms, ADA compliant restroom, lockers, benches, electric, lighting, painting, etc:

South Parkersburg Rowing has begun construction on a new boathouse that leaders say will replace the old shelter, improve training space and organization, and allow the Parkersburg South crew program to grow.
