The Parkers Prairie Girls' Basketball Banquet was held on Monday, March 30th, at Rock N' Willow Ranch. The night honored the achievements and accomplishments of the girls' basketball programs, including C-Squad, JV, and Varsity, as well as the individual accolades and awards presented to athletes. The Varsity team received the honors of being members of the MGBCA (Minnesota Girls' Basketball Coaches Association) All-Academic Gold Team, earning a 3.764 GPA as a team.

Panthers fall by 7 to Hancock and end their season. A slow first half gave the Panthers a 9 point deficit at the break and were down by as many as 16 in the second half, but that did not deter the fight from the visitors as they stormed back and held the lead for several minutes down the stretch. All in all though, it was not enough as the Owls pulled away and will advance to play Hillcrest. The group showed incredible fight and although the deposit they put in did not have a return on the scoreboard tonight, the adversity they constantly battle and respond from will have its return in due time. Proud is an understatement.

The loss ends the careers of three Panther Basketball players: Alicia Penrose, Alyssa Revering, and Evy Grinager. Thank you for your dedication in your basketball journey and everything you all did to make a positive impact on Panther Basketball.

Girls were down at the half to Henning but dig deep and find a way to win, final score 74-68. It was a physical game, and the Panthers were gritty and didn't settle from outside, as 26 two-point baskets resulted in nearly 50 points in the paint, doubling their opponent. The Hornets shot the ball well and put pressure on the Panther defense to make stops, and when they did, the offense did what they needed to do to keep it at a two-possession game in the final minutes. Our Section is extremely tough, and every win is earned, and our girls showed that tonight.

This concludes the regular season, our girls' finish with a 15-10 overall record and will await final QRF rankings and seeding to see who we will play next Thursday, February 26th location TBD.

In Osakis today, our C-Squad battled but lost by 9. All 11 girls played extremely hard as a team and left it all on the court in their season finale. We are so proud to have three squads of girls' competing again this year and in a time where not many teams were able to offer a C-Squad, these girls kept their nose to the grindstone and made the most of it, finishing with a total of 14 games on the year.

Panthers win tonight in Browerville 61-40. Definitely was not our most complete performance, but they did enough to pull ahead in the second half still coming down from what was a very emotional high last night. A great lesson to every game is a new game, and the girls look to show that on Thursday in the season finale in Henning. All 15 girls hit the floor tonight and made an impact as the bench provided a nice energy boost in the second half of action. C-Squad earned a convincing Victory over the Tigers as well. They look to finish their season with a win on Thursday evening in Osakis.
