Kairali school of Dance is an initiative started by Unnimaya Menon (Maya).It is a humble venture towards divulging her knowledge in classical dance for those who are passionate about it. Her passion for dance has started at the age of 4 and since then she has been learning classical dance under the guidance of her guru , who is also her mom Asha Vasudeva Menon, a disciple of Kalamandalam Kshemavat
hy. She has also been a student to many prominent gurus in india such as RLV Anand, Sunil Nellayil, Giri MK, Kalamandalan Sini, Kalamandalam Seema and Job Lonappan who have trained various professionals (like Kavya Madhavan, Neeraj Madhav) in dance arena. The styles she potrays include that of Kalamadalam and Kalakshetra. She has also performed various classical, semi-classical, kathak and bollywood dances at various stages and bagged many awards at National and International level.She had been taking classes (classical, semi classical and cinematic) for about 12 years with a student range of over 150 in Doha, Qatar . After her marriage , she has moved to California where she started the initial base of Kairali school of dance with a small set of students. She has been recently relocated to Denver , Colorado due to a work transfer of her spouse. Her forte includes Bharatnatiyam, kuchippudi, mohiniyattam , Kerala nadanam and cinematic dances. She also focuses on choreography for Kathak, semi-classical and bollywood dance styles. Once you have mastered it, there will be no boundary to the happiness and fulfillment you could attain in your life.
