Fencing Center of Chicago

The Fencing Center of Chicago is a school dedicated to the instruction and practice of the Olympic sport of fencing. National Champions, members of the U.S.

We are located in Park Ridge, Illinois and serve the entire Chicago area. We offer coaching in Foil (Epee & Saber upon request) to kids ages 6 & up, teens and adults of all fencing levels. Our Head Coach, Bakhyt Abdikulov, is a former World Cup Champion with over 25 years of coaching experience. He has trained multiple athletes into "A" level fencers who have gone on to become U.S. World Team and

graduates of prestigious universities such as Princeton, University of Pennsylvania and University of Chicago. Our club has members ranging from recreational fencers who love to fence for fun and competitive fencers who travel nationally and internationally to compete in world-class events. FCC offers 11 strips, locker rooms, equipment rental, work-out equipment and a convenient waiting area for parents to enjoy while kids practice.

We have wonderful news today: our JOVAN JOVANOVIC made it into the top 32 in the senior category at the FIE European Championships in France! Excellent work Jovan! We are so proud of you!!! Your hard work and constant optimism set a fantastic example for both our experienced and beginner fencers! We look forward to your return and hearing all about it! GO FCC!🤺💪🤺

Congratulations to Alex Zanzola on his first successful tournament performance! Although he has only recently started practicing at FCC, he is already bringing home medals for the team. At “Edge of Summer tournament” , Alex won bronze medal and earned his new D26 rating, an excellent result. We are so happy for you, Alex!
Every journey begins with local tournaments, and you have already taken that important first step. Keep working hard, we are confident that even greater success awaits you at larger competitions.
We also congratulate Ruslan Bagamanov on his victory, and Cynthia Huang and Maggie Belinski on winning silver and bronze medals. This tournament served as a great warm-up for the upcoming Summer Nationals.

Day 2 SJCC Update:
Again our fencers delivered another strong performance on the second day at the SJCC tournament!
Our KEN HUANG (Epee) and OSCAR CHUANG (Foil) earned additional national ranking points in the top 32 strongest fencers out of 200 other competitors.
Congratulations to both of you on another successful day! We are immensely proud of you guys! GO FCC!💪🤺

We have some fantastic news from the first day at the Las Vegas SJCC — success again! Our very own Foilist, OSCAR CHUANG, added another National Medal to the FCC collection by placing 7th out of 156 competitors. What an outstanding achievement! Our sincere congratulations to OSCAR on this remarkable accomplishment. You have made us proud once again with your excellent performance! Congratulations on this success! You continue to be a great representative of FCC at National-level tournaments and an inspiration to all our fencers! As always, GO FCC!🤺🏅

The 2026 USA Fencing Summer Nationals & July Challenge 2026 is coming up June 27 – July 6, 2026. Our FCC camp starts 6/21 to 6/25, from 10 am to 4 pm. This Summer Camp is designed to sharpen fencing skills through focused physical preparation, fencing, and lessons with Ohio State University Assistant Coach and Internationally recognized fencing Star, Olympian and multiple-time World champion MAESTRO ELVIS GREGORY. We have some fantastic news from the recent Regional tournaments!
A huge congratulations to our fencers who competed at the Motor City RYC/RJCC. XAVIER HERRERA and FARREN SWOPE both broke into the Top 8, earning medals with impressive fifth-place finishes in their respective events. Farren also secured a place in the Top 16, finishing 12th overall—an outstanding achievement! Great job!💪

And there’s even more exciting news: our club’s sole representative, ARJOON SHUKLA traveled to California to compete in the SYC—one of the largest Regional Tournaments in the country—and made us incredibly proud by bringing home a prestigious SILVER MEDAL 🥈, earning a significant number of national points. What an incredible accomplishment!

ARJOON, we are extremely proud of you! You continue to show how strong you can be when you stay focused, listen, and apply everything our coaches teach. Keep it going—our Musketeer hero!

The April NAC has come to a close! Days 3 and 4 were another success for FCC. Roman Sobeshkevych earned valuable national points in JME, finishing 41st out of 266 competitors. Adam Ginzburg also delivered a strong performance, breaking into the Top 16 in Div1ME with a 12th-place finish out of 218 competitors. Great work, guys!💪
