U.S. Ski & Snowboard Junior Championships

U.S. Ski & Snowboard Junior Championships The U.S. Ski & Snowboard Junior Championships (formerly Junior Olympics) have been the premier junior championship tournament since the mid 1970s.

Virtually all of U.S. Ski & Snowboard's Olympic and World Champions have participated in the Junior Championship program. The success of the Junior Championships as the showcase of junior competition is due to the member clubs who take on the responsibility of hosting these important events. The clubs provide the venues, the officials, the volunteers, the financial resources and the infrastructure

to produce the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Junior Championships. Athletically, the Junior Championships is often the launch pad for junior athletes to achieve results and performance standards to gain invitations to U.S. Ski Team training camps or U.S. Ski Team international competition opportunities. The concept of “clear path” advancement is very important to the professional and volunteer leadership. The Junior Championships provide a perfect performance marker for young athletes who are emerging. In many cases, Junior Championship medals will provide automatic advancement to higher-level competition.
