Let me tell you something about these boys - Although we didn’t bring home any hardware this weekend we brought home something more valuable than any trophy or medal, we brought home YEARS of memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. From the time they started playing rec ball they said they wanted to change the landscape of basketball in Henry County, I have watched them topple mountain after mountain to work towards that goal. Most of the time our competition is made up of great players and athletes from all over their respective areas…but not us, we are just a small town team that works hard and plays TOGETHER! It has been that togetherness that has fueled our journey and our success. As we finished our final game this weekend it was an emotional thing for all of us, but as we were processing it all, the surrounding support from all of the young kids from Paris were right in the middle of our huddle…When I look back on the whole thing I can only come up with one conclusion - You are dang skippy they changed the basketball landscape in Henry County! If you get a chance to see them in action with HCHS this year, don’t miss an opportunity to see a truly GREAT TEAM!
