Mark your calendars for June 20th as the stars of the D Transport 410 Sprint cars battle for the Belt in the King of Paragon!

🔥 EVERY Sprint Car will make a feature!

🔥 Two-car qualifying will set the stage for an action-packed night.

🔥 The exciting King of the Hill style race, where the 6 fastest qualifiers will go head-to-head for bragging rights and a huge advantage

🔥 Each opponent they defeat will earn them an extra $250

🔥 The King of the Hill winner will lock into the POLE POSITION for the feature event! And take home the one of a kind King of Paragon belt!!

🔥 NO B-MAINS! Every sprint car will race in a main event. First feature will run 25 laps second feature will run 20 laps

🔥If the driver beats all 5 other opponents in the king of the hill and wins the feature they will take home an extra $250, totaling their earnings to $4,000 for the night!!

How about some Mike Johnson doing some mid week testing at the Paragon Speedway sometime in the late 50s I’m not sure who the guys standing are but I do know Mike Johnson was the driver of the car . The one thing I noticed about the photo is it’s before the back shoot first traffic light . I know the first traffic light came sometime in the late 50s or early 60s .
I remember as a little boy Edd Sheppard putting me on his shoulders and letting me change the bulbs in the original traffic lights . I always thought I was big time changing those traffic light bulbs
If you look at the boards coming of the light pole they are two light bulbs dangling that is being used as a traffic light a green bulb and an amber bulb this was long before the first traffic light . Could you imagine that at today’s speeds just two old dim light bulbs hanging off a board . In those days they also used a corner Flagman in turn three Things has came a long way from two light bulbs that probably cost 25 cents in the 1950s to today’s modern Walen safety LED light system the Helton family has installed that was several thousands of dollars . The Waldon safety light system is the same thing being used at the Indianapolis motor speedway and all nascar tracks . Ya I’d say the Paragon Speedway has came a long way .
I hope this helps you young racers realize just how much things has changed for the better at Paragon Speedway.
The Speedway has been leased out from time to time since the early 50s for testing just as Mike Johnson is doing in the photo . As a little boy I’ve even seen the old front engine Indy roadsters being tested at Paragon Speedway I’ve seen USAC and Indy 500 legends like Jim Hurtubise and Jim McElreath test at Paragon Speedway even though Paragon Speedway wasn’t a part of USAC Racing in those early days it was still a major testing ground for many of the USAC teams in those early years

WOW… what a night! 👏🏁

A huge THANK YOU to all of the fans who came out and packed the house for Fan Appreciation Night this past Saturday at Paragon Speedway! The incredible turnout, energy, and support made for one of the most memorable nights of the season.

From the packed grandstands to the autograph sessions, giveaways, and fans joining us on the track after the races, it was amazing to see so many smiling faces enjoying the night with our drivers and teams.

We also want to thank our drivers, teams, sponsors, staff, and volunteers who helped make the evening such a success. Events like this remind us why racing is more than a sport, it’s a family.

Thank you for supporting local racing and making Paragon Speedway the place to be on Saturday nights. We can’t wait to see everyone back at the track soon!
