History was made Saturday Night during qualifications for the annual Chuck Amati Classic 68. Rocklin, California's Robert Ballou established himself atop the charts with a lap of 14.387 seconds. This broke the 38 year old non wing sprintcar track record set by the late Robbie Stanley on July 13, 1985 with a lap of 14.504 seconds.

Ballou would go on to win his heat and finish 2nd in the 68 lapper.

Excitement builds for the annual Amati 68 at Stoops Freightliner Western Star Paragon Speedway. Cody Trammell has parked the legendary Daryl Tate machine in victory lane 2 weeks in a row. It's a fitting intro into the weekend ahead as Daryl and Chuck paired up to win multiple races over the years. This race honors the 68 years of life Chuck spent on this earth and shared his talent with us racers and fans.
