Are you on or off the exercise wagon? I’ve been going strong for a while now but there was a time where I convinced myself I didnt have time for it. What a lie that was. Even now, I have to fight that thought. I know some people really do face time scarcity. But even if it is a small exercise routine at home, the benefits are there! I always feel like my time multiplies when I exercise. I’m more focused, driven, and present. How about you?

We all know how hard it can feel to build a habit with adhd. What I now realize is there is no perfect way to workout. Shane is the last thing that motivates us. You travel or a kid gets sick and you miss a week or two. That’s okay. Maybe it has been years since you last exercised. So how do you get back to it? What strategy can you use to get the our heart pumping, muscles firing and neurons wiring, no matter how small?

ADHD and Hormones impact women’s health and mental health in so many ways that I was clueless to prior to getting diagnosed at 43. Now, as a certified coach, I’ve put in the time in to rewrite my life narrative.

All those times in high school luteal phases where I wasn’t sure I wanted to live anymore, even though I was a straight A gifted student on her way to being valedictorian and going Ivy.

Those 4 post partum times where I sometimes thought my kids would be better off without me.

My late 30s where I never climbed out of post partum no matter how hard tried. Blaming myself for dropping the insane amount of balls I used to juggle.

Diagnosis brought a path to understanding, self acceptance, self compassion and REAL strategies that actually WORK for MY brain!

Getting certified as an ADHD Coach and doing deep dives into positive psychology, mindfulness, executive function and the nervous system changed my life and now I get to help others reclaim their passion and peace.

If you’re not ready for coaching, no worries. Follow along, commiserate, and ask questions. Part of my mission is advocacy so I’m here to answer them!

Comment if you want an invite to a free webinar where we talk what shifts and strategies are working for the women I coach.

I had the opportunity to portray Mary in a depiction of Christ’s final hours.

I’ve heard the song ā€œMary, Did You Know?ā€ many times.

But ā€œtime travelingā€ to portray even a small part of her story made me wonder…

What does it mean to know…
and still have to watch it unfold?

She had faith.
She was told who He was.
She had received promises.
She understood His purpose.

But she likely didn’t know how it would unfold.

And so… she stood there.

I can’t know for sure, but I don’t think knowing…
takes away the grief.
Removes the helplessness.
Or quiets the part of a mother that wants to protect her child.

It just means you stay.

Stay present.
Stay near.
Stay through it.

They both did.

He asked for the cup to pass—
and when it didn’t, He stayed.

He didn’t lose sight of who He was.
His purpose didn’t remove the pain…
but it gave meaning to it.
Because he loves YOU (and me)
I’m still thinking about that.

What that means for my own growth—
and how I show up for my kids
as I witness their journey..

I’ve been reflecting on how I show up in my kids’ hardest moments.
I’d love to hear what this brings up for you.

Self talk isn’t weird. It is how the brain regulates behavior. Let me know in the comments if you talk to yourself too!

My phone is glitching and I am unable to copy and paste the 6 strategies for self talk. I do t want to retype in the parking lot!

Comment Self-talk and I’ll send it over when I get back o my laptop.

Many women don’t realize they have ADHD until adulthood.

Often after becoming mothers.

And then something else happens.

They begin to see the same patterns in their children.

What follows is often a cycle of:
Reacting → guilt → trying harder → repeating

Not because they lack discipline or faith.
But because no one taught them how ADHD impacts emotional regulation and executive function in daily life.

When a mother begins to understand her brain and her child’s, everything begins to shift.

Not perfectly.
But meaningfully.
Less reactivity
More clarity
More compassion
More moments of peace

I’m opening a small founding cohort for mothers who want to learn how to lead their homes from a calmer, more grounded place.

Are you an Alphabet ADHDer?

This continues to be such a journey of discovery as perimenopause has unmasked and revealed so much that I’ve dealt with.

I’m so grateful I have figured out how to build my capacity to experience all that life throws at me and still find gratitude and joy.

Radical Agency has truly changed the way I face situations and helped me find a way to focus on what I can control and let go of the rest.

If you are facing ADHD and physical symptoms what do you do to help you face it all?

The difference between objective and subjective is EVERYTHING for ADHDers navigating self-help advice and critiques from those who don’t really understand us.

We’re constantly told what ā€˜should’ work… and then blame ourselves when it doesn’t.

But a lot of that advice isn’t wrong—it’s just not designed for your brain.

Learning to filter instead of internalize is the game changer.

How do we filter with confidence when we feel unsure of ourselves? We get to know our strengths, our values, our interests, how we process information, the supports that actually work for us and then we experiment and grow. This is how we go from being the victim of our adhd wiring to shining because of our adhd wiring.

Sometimes just moving your body, listening to music and doing something that gives you a quick sense of accomplishment is the best medicine.

I say this as someone who knows how hard initiating action is on any day, let alone a low mood day. I use a lot of self talk that is a combo of self compassion and a lot of literally breaking down each tiny step into a mission. ā€œJust put on some music. Yes! Now get up off the coach. You got this! Now go get the gloves. See that wasn’t so hard!ā€ And one step at a time you start to move and feel better.

Now I’m rewarding myself by sitting on my patio with my feet up and watching families play at the park across the street while listening to birds chirp and dogs bark. It has been a nice mindful moment to be present and out of my head.

What are your tricks to get moving when you’re not feeling great?

When you’re struggling with low mood and feeling depressed, here are 3 questions to ask yourself.

1- Are you stuck in the gap between expectation and reality? Once you name it, can you give yourself compassion, accept the disappointment and then pivot?

2- Have you done something physical for your body. Exercise is such good medicine and helps our bodies get the feel good chemicals we need to shift into positive mood.

3- How are your hormones? Just knowing that our mood is hormone induced (low estrogen>lower dopamine>lower executive function and mood) can help us get out of heads. Our brains will find a reason to be sad if we allow it. But if we know it is hormonal, we can have compassion for ourselves and choose an activity to shift to that is known to lift our moods.

Which do you struggle with most? Expectation vs reality
Skipping exercise or
Hormones (monthly cycle, postpartum or perimenopause?)
