☁️⛈️ Weather Update & Season Closure ⛱️💔

We’re heartbroken to share that due to the forecasted weather, the pool will not be opening today. Unfortunately, this means we’re closing out the season earlier than we hoped.

This isn’t how we wanted to say goodbye to summer — we were looking forward to one last splash with all of you! Thank you for making this season go smoothly in-spite of the hiccups, even if the skies had other plans for our final days.

Here’s to sunny memories and looking forward to next year. 💦☀️ Until then… stay dry, and we will see you in February for our general meeting. 💙

Due to low air temperatures and rainy weather we will not be opening today :(

Mother Nature is not cooperating with us so we can enjoy the last weekend of our swim season.

Staff Spotlight!!! Our last but definitely not least spotlight is on Evan!!! With 3 years of experience at Papio Pool, Evan has served as one of our head guards this summer. Evan has been Arno’s right hand man in the pump room all season and has stepped up and helped out in every way he possibly could. Evan just started his freshman year at UNO. A fun fact about Evan is he swam competitively for 11 years! We are so thankful for all of his hard work this summer, as well as all of our other staff members! We hope to see them all back at the pool next summer! We wish everyone a safe and fun school year!

Staff Spotlight!! Mary, one of Papio Pool’s lifeguards, is our spotlight today! This is Mary’s 3rd year helping keep the water safe at the pool. She attends Papillion LaVista High School and is a senior this year. A fun fact about Mary is she and her family have been members of the pool for 14 years! Mary is working all day today so say hello if you see her at the pool!

Staff Spotlight!! Today, our spotlight is on Eryn! This is Eryn’s first summer at Papio Pool and she is one of our substitute lifeguards. Eryn attends Papio South High School. A fun fact about her is she is a really great swimmer! 🐟💦 We are so happy to have her as part of our staff this summer. Eryn will be at the pool all day today on this sunny Sunday!

~Pool Opening Update ~

Repairs have been completed YAY!!!! The pool will be open today at 4:00.

Now we just need the rain to move out and the sun to come out.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be able to open tomorrow, Wednesday. Arrival of one of the necessary parts has been delayed until the morning. If it does indeed arrive tomorrow in time for installation, we should be able to open on Thursday.

I understand this is not the news anyone wants to hear. It is definitely NOT the news we wanted to deliver to y'all today. 😢

We will share an update as soon as we have one.

Please know we are working on options for additional hours of operation, but it may not look as you hope. We are doing the best we can.
