Great Jetty cleanup today! Special thank you to Mike Davis (FSU) for organizing the event, Pat Green (Panama City Diving) for donating tanks, Cameron Sager (SASP) for free park entry, Tudor's Biscuit World for free breakfast (Keri Woods for picking up the biscuits), Parker Winn Dixie for drinks and snacks, Friends of St Andrews for running the diver check in, and all the many other volunteers who made this a success! In all, 500 lbs of fishingline, sinkers, lures, hooks, and other trash was pulled from our favorite swimmin' hole!!!

if you're coming out to support the Jetty Cleanup, please be advised that Panama City Diving plans to close tomorrow at 2pm. While open they'll also have fewer staff than usual, so please consider that when returning tanks. I believe the event should be wrapping up before lunch.

Also, Tudor Biscuit World donated sausage biscuits that will be available at the pavillion on a first come first served basis.

James Logan Main, 100-Ton Master Captain, who owned/operated Captain’s Choice Charters SCUBA Diving Adventures, and has been a long-time member and friend of PC Dive Club, will discuss the history, fate, archeological survey, and underwater preservation of the S.S. Tarpon!

PC Dive Club welcomes you to join our Microsoft Teams meeting AUGUST 6th/ 700pm.
Dr. Kirstin Meyer-Kaiser, a marine biologist at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) will be discussing the role of shipwrecks and submerged aircraft in our ocean environment and enlisting club participants in her SS United States Research Project.

Kirstin Meyer-Kaiser a marine biologist at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI)!

What's being discussed:
Kirstin will be joining us remotely to present the role of shipwrecks and submerged aircraft in our ocean environment.

She will lay out research plans for the SS United States and portray the key role of this ship in the emerging field of Maritime Heritage Ecology. There are potential supporting research roles for PC Dive Club, once the SS United States is reefed!
