Before Earth Day, there were those who had already seen what was coming.

Through decades of exploration, Jacques Cousteau revealed a world most had never witnessed, and began to notice the changes others could not yet see.

“I have produced for television 52 one-hour films. The start was curiosity… Then came the period of alert, because we were looking at things that were actually disappearing.”

The planet was changing. Life was disappearing. And awareness began to grow.

That awareness helped spark a movement, but it’s what we do with it that matters.

Today, on Earth Day, we carry that responsibility forward.

To explore. To educate. To protect.

Thank you for being part of this work.

It all starts with a coral polyp! 🪸 These tiny ocean-dwelling animals are the basic building blocks of every reef on the planet.

Here’s the breakdown:

1) Corals live in colonies made of multiple tiny, identical polyps.
2) Corals pull calcium and carbonate from seawater to build hard skeletons—providing structure for both themselves and the overall reef architecture.
3) This structure provides essential shelter and food, creating a complex system that allows marine life to thrive.
